Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (this is clearly wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce "6600 GT" 128MB or greater (and this one is more wrong)
(Note: IMO, the practical choices for the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 GS, at least, for small textures - it will take a Radeon X1650 XT (or X1800 GTO, same thing, almost) for medium or better textures)

I have answered you three hours ago. However, I have a question of my own now. You joined the forums ten months ago; was that because the so-called "Legacy Forums" were inactivated?guinswag wrote...
I want to preface this by saying that the PC I'm using is under-specced (below minimum) but the game seems to be running fine, just that no text can be seen at all- is there something that I'm missing in getting the text to appear?
(Because Bioware hasn't released any games for four years now that would run without functional Dx9 of some kind!)

Gorath, thank you kindly for your answer- as to the videocard I'm using, let's just say it's below the minumum you listed for the Nvidia Geforce part.
To answer your query, I did join the forums waaaay back when I was playing NWN2 (seemed to work just fine for the most part, and that was even before I upgraded my RAM past 2 Gigs); thought that the Dragon Age Origins Ultimate that I bought about a month or two back would work just as fine- needless to say I was wrong; the upside though is that I think I managed to get the "get-all-the-extra-content" part (I think) activated before the July 2011 deadline so if at a future time I'm able to access a more stronger computer/graphicscardset, hopefully all of it should still work. I'm in no hurry though as I really don't play too many computer games as it is (tabletop rpgs, including the Green Ronin version of Dragon Age, are more my thing nowadays).

On the other hand, if you have a desktop PC, and it has a PCIe video bus, the cost of good graphics cards has dropped to less than half of the cost when the changeover from Dx8 to Dx9 was in midstream, and a card for NWN would be out then that has gone obsolete since then. That was five years ago, and PCIe was six years ago, so you might just have an AGP video bus. That isn't a good thing.Gorath Alpha wrote...
You must replace it (should the video be part of a laptop, that normally is impossible, leading to replacing the entire PC).
