if this is the RPG of the decade and all future titles will be even worse quality wise i think i'll stop gaming

Dunno if I'd stop gaming but I won't buy or play as much as I do now.  Most other kinds of game do not interest me.

Lol. Tongue in cheek comment, since this decade just started, and there are at least two rpgs that will be better than it that will be released this year. (Me3, SKyrim)

^So you're saying that the first decade started at year 0?

Yep, that's how it is. For example, 1990-1999 is called the 90s

There's no Year Zero.

In any case, it doesn't matter. Nobody said the meaning of the decade in question was an absolute value rather than a relative one (as in, 'the past ten years').

Elder Scrolls is to an RPG as Grand Theft Auto is to a racing game.

Take core gameplay.
Add a useless boring landscape filled with distractions from the core gameplay around it.
Rest easy with the fact that a lot of players can't make the distinction between 'depth' and 'breadth'.

Looks like someone at EA paid someone at PC Gamer a handsome contribution.

ME2, even though its a third person shooter, probably is a better RPG then DA2 from what I read.

New Vegas is better in many ways. For some reason i believe the new Elder Scrolls game would be better. At least if Bethesda will stop removing features and concentrate on making their world "breathing" it would.

New Vegas is better in pretty much every way. Better than ME2 as well as far as RPG mechanics, choice and consequence, everything except technical execution really. It's certainly my GOTY for 2010.

I lol'd when I heard this. Of course it's the best RPG of the decade so far, if you count the decade as starting three months ago. Otherwise... Well, apparently they haven't played any other RPG released in the past year.

People still rely on reviews to make up their minds for them?

Honestly folks, theirs alot of dirty handed dealings involving reviews from big names. PC gamer arnt going to roll out and say "this games ****ing ****", because they'd then loose a fair chunk of their business, from developer and publisher. Why would they offer behind the scenes footage, screenshots, game info etc, when they can just find somebody else to give an exlusive to who'll rate the game high when its released.

It's a shame, I remember I bought Warcraft II based on their recommendation a long time ago and absolutely loved it. Preordered based on their DA2 review, and it's obvious that the review was garbage.

I dont get it...I like DA2...But to me it feels the same with DAO....as I felt wit FNV as to Fallout 3

I LOVED Fallout 3....but never could get overly excited about anything going on in NV

I feel exactly the same in DA2...In DAO I felt motivated to do quests...find answers....In DA2 the quests leave you not caring...im many hours in...and I have honestly had very few cool moments that grabbed my attention and desire to keep playing...the lack of things from DAO so far really have me annoyed.

The PC Gamer reviewer emphasized on only certain aspects of the game. He didn't do a good work of analyzing all the aspects. I think PCG was paid to turn out a praising review to dupe us into preordering the game.

I jest, I jest...  I do enjoy DA2, but best RPG of the decade it isn't.

About Dragon Age Origins on the Wiki i found.

Kevin VanOrd of GameSpot reviewed the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions separately. The PC version was given a score of 9.5 out of 10, plus an 'Editor's Choice' award. The game was described as "that kind of game, so rich and involving that you are powerless to resist its wiles and whims, so touching and triumphant that your mind and heart will be moved... Few games are this ambitious, and even fewer can mold these ambitions into such a complete and entertaining experience. You might spend 50 or more hours on your first play-though, but there are so many paths to follow, so many details to uncover, and so many ways to customize your party that you'll want to play again as soon as you finish the first time."

I thought that maby bioware need a lilttle reminder why DA:O  just gave you that in control of your fate feeling in DA:O. Image IPB

What a load of tripe. I can't think of any game ever that would deserve such gushing praise. Not even my most beloved game of all time, Deus Ex.

to agree with a person i've played 3 " new age " rpg games.. and so far its .. not making me feel good to be a rpg gamer.. what was dragon age 2? i didn't see anything what made dragon origins my favourite game of all time. * aka mages with gaint swords and armor * if i had to rate this game its around 3-4/10 its ok.. but even the disappointment that was FF13 was better, it just seems to me they ripped everything from dragon age 1 and through flashy graphics and good combat.. but combat is not what rpgs are souly about, and merging it with a SHOOTER? rpg's with swords.. and a game with big guns.. don't really mix.. over all, i wish there was a return opition with this game. and i'll happily play dragon age origins.. 100 times, then play one game of dragon age 2
