PC Gamer just wants to be the first that said it if it would turn out that way (which it won't)

Kinda much this

this thread should be bumped. It clearly show that there some people who actually knows what they're talking about, thought the GotY is kinda over the head

No they don't know a thing. However, if it would appear that they were right and DA II becomes the best game of this decade, then they can laugh at my face (but it will never happen)

Why bring up the reviews in an argument FOR DA2 when it's the worst reviewed RPG Bioware have ever made?

^No, you're wrong. DA II is not the worst. It's a good game, but when it comes to being a sequal, it's a very bad one

Ugh.. Calling Dragon Age 2 "the best RPG of the decade" is such a fraudulent statement that it almost insults me. To begin with, the decade has barely started. It's clear PC Gamer had some motive in making this statement (probably some kind of financial gain to be had in unwarranted appraisal of an undeserving title. Online/Magazine game reviews nowadays are mired in so much corruption and bribery that the vast majority cannot be taken seriously).

Dragon Age 2 is an objectively disappointing game, doubly so because it's the sequel to such a fantastic title. If this game is the pinnacle of RPGs for this decade, then I'm glad I won't be spending my money for the next ten years on entirely mediocre titles.

>Major, game-breaking bugs (Isabella friendship bug, infinite xp/gold, entirely unbeatable quests/storylines)
>Disgusting re-use of environments
>Incoherent, nearly non-existent plot (three nearly unrelated acts strung together by arbitrary and often entirely random scripted events/quests)
>Several throwaway party members with no personality or extremely poorly written ones (Bethany, Carver, and Merrill are the most egregious cases of this, though Fenris, Isabella, and Sebastian also suffer from uninspired, cliché sideplots)
>Horrid Item/Inventory system (I don't even know where to begin. Oh, wait, yes I do - no upgrades for anyone other than Hawke, a stupid amount of amulets/rings/belts with uninteresting, repetitive stats, an entire category in your inventory for "junk" which serves no purpose and contributes NOTHING to the game ... I mean, seriously, you guys couldn't even give some icons or drop a little flavor text on some of that stuff?)
>Terrible RPG/Stat mechanics (two stats per class, no depth to the system whatsoever, no room for creative builds since the game spells out exactly what you "should" be getting)

I can't even continue. The list of things that Dragon Age 2 inexplicably messes up is far too long for me to detail in a single post, and the criticisms, at this point, are widely known anyway. The fact is, this game is objectively bad in many, many ways. This isn't to say that it is a terrible game - in a year and a half bioware managed to work at least a portion of the magic we expect from them... the game has polish in some areas and is definitely playable. However, calling it the best RPG of the decade makes me cringe - it's hardly likely that DA2 will even be a contender for best RPG of the year, much less be a title we remember in 3-4 years time.

tldr; <_<
