Seems to me people are pissed because DA:O seemed to be a return to a hardcore RPG but DA2, like ME2, is a RPG-lite. Not a bad thing itself necessarily, but not what the hardcore fanbase wants.

The best RPG of this decade? Nine more years will tell, but for now, yes.
Hehe, so basically he is saying it is the best RPG of the last 2 1/2 months?

10+ hours in and while DA2 is an enjoyable RPG, it seems to be a pretty shallow RPG.

I'm curious to know - what is shallow about it?
The fact that Hawke's dialogue options and lines are different in your game than they are in the game of someone playing him differently?
That every quest is subtlely foreshadowing an aspect of the greater storyline? From rumours about Meredith, to stories about mages, templars, loyalty, knowing one's place, chaos, order...
Or that everything from which allies you take on which quest can change what options become available to you while on the quest, and whether that character will become a friend or rival?
Or that levelling your character isn't as simple as just levelling up any old power but requires thought about the tactics you set for the entire party?
Please. Where is the shallow nature of this game?
Because, while there are some faults, being shallow IMO is not one of them.

I'm enjoying the game, although I have to admit they overdid it in some of the quests - omg at the number of enemies you have to kill.
There was one side-quest I just flat did a "Load Game" to leave it, it was too difficult, even with my party at Level 21.

As much as I am disapointed with DA2, I agree with you. It is not a shallow game at all. It is just lame compare to its predecessor.

The game is just being dumped down. People hate it 'cause it's not anything like DA:O. They don't see the full picture

- Story is great. It's a shame that not much of your decisions matter, but it still great
- Fightig is awesome. Feels like God of War
- Dialogue is kinda dull when you can't see what your saying, but you'll live with it.
And there much more

Of course that's like saying it's the most important electron in a hydrogen atom.

Hopefully Witcher 2 steps it's **** up & lives up to Witcher 1.
Bioware & Bethesda have had horrible years so far.

How come there's such a HUGE gap between what the average punter thinks of the game and what the Critics are scoring it? Did they play a differant game to us?

Hah. I get it.
Because there's only one electron in a Hydrogen atom.
You're so clever.
