I played as a Rogue in my 1st playthrough, and even though I used dual daggers the entire game (and never once touched a bow), I got a Bassrath-Kata bow as my reward for the Lost Swords quest. In the strategy guide it lists a Bassrath-Kata dagger, and I was sorely disappointed when I didn't get it.
Anyone have a Bassrath-Kata blade (dagger or either kind of sword), and care to describe it (or better yet post a screenshot)?

Turned in all ten according to the strategy guide. So I got the top reward for the quest, but it just was the wrong kind of weapon for my build.

You must have had a bow equipped when you turned in the first sword. If you had daggers equipped, you would have gotten that version.

My rogue was a dagger wielder and got a dagger.
edit: took a pic for you. Visually its the dagger on my left shoulder blade (one closest to stats). The Deathroot toxin line is due to actual poison, not a blade stat.

From what I can tell it doesn't have a unique appearance as a staff (it's identical to another "unique" staff). It looks like the polearm that some of the Qunari carry glued to their back, but when you glue it to YOUR back, it's upside-down, which I find hilarious.
