This is BioWare pushing the day 1 download content.  BioWare pushing the items for purchase of their Dragon Age sweatshirts and lithgraphs.  BioWare trying to sell the soundtrack.  Not EA.  BioWare.  

Notice EA has been pretty silent about the release of DA2.  This web forum is held by BioWare.  They're the ones talking about how amazing the reviews for DA2 have been.  Not EA.  Even Felicia Day stopped talking about it THE VERY DAY it was released in the US.  Even she knew it was a mistake.  BioWare are the ones in denial. 

EA are the ones who put SecuRom on the disc.  EA are probably responsible for the rush.  But BioWare is responsible for this train wreck of a game.
