I would like to speak about cleric spells. What do you use, what do you prefer and why, and maybe ask some questions. I am starting with a question about Blade Barrier.
I was reading here the details http://nwn2.wikia.co...i/Blade_Barrier and the long, long, long list of bugs. I tried this spell while fighting with ahem... no spoiler... well, let's said it has the holy avenger. My idea was to cast the spell around Khelgar, that was fighting very close to the enemy. Instead I can only cast it around me. Ok, so after casting it, I started to move against the enemy... and I discovered I was unable to move. So my question is: is this normal or a bug? I remember that when Anomen casted Blade Barrier around himself in the old, dear BG2, he can move and go around while bashing enemies so, has the spell been changed?

It's normal, but I don't know if a bug or not. It's pretty annoying, if you finish the combat while the spell is active, you have to wait, rest or dispell it.
You can cast it on top of an enemy or on the floor, and wait for enemies to cross it. Those are maybe the most effective ways to use it. For that particular fight, cast it on the enemy for continued damage.

So, there isn't any way to solve the bug... I think I'm sad :-(

I believe it's intended behaviour - after all, if you are surrounded by a wall of blades, you're not going to move across it, and the other version is immovable as well so it's not like it's going to move with you. From a gameplay perspective, it also stops people from running into enemies repeatedly in a short duration to do large amounts of damage by triggering the OnEntered event over and over.

A mobile Blade Barrier in this game would be the most abusable spell ever for the reasons Fred explained. Sidestepping back and forth so an enemy enters it over and over would propably let you trigger it like once a second while the retarded AI just stands there and gets blendered for that ~90d6 damage per round.

Sure, and that was the reason while I cast it during that fight :-D again, it was the same spell as in BG2 so, why once it could move and now it can't? In the page I linked above it is written that damage is applied every round, so even by moving the character, the spell would not allow intense damage :-P

it is a variant spell that does it around you, the wall form allows you to move, self targeting does not.

The Blade Barrier is supposed to be immobile. Not letting a character move through his own (ouch) was a designer decision. I think it was the right call, although there should be a self-dispelling option. I believe I use my Bag Of The Winds (aka Bag of Hot Air) - unlimited high level Gust of Wind spells - to clean it up after battles along with various Storms, Walls, Greases, etc. (not real sure because I rarely use the BB anymore).

The reason that the spell would allow intense damage is because it deals damage not only every round, but also when one enters the area. So, if the blade barrier followed your character around, you could run backwards and forwards at people to trigger that event over and over, and thus deal a very large amount of damage in a small amount of time.
As pain says, when you place the barrier as a wall, you can move. The only real issue I have is that it doesn't say anywhere that you can't move when you cast the self-targeting version. This is a big issue since it can change tactics incredibly and can be a horrible surprise if you don't know. Ideally, there would be some sort of option to cancel it (perhaps I'll make a GUI for it or something) so you can give up the damage to flee.

Abuse of this sort used to happen with the Druid's Body of Sun. Self cast take badger form and run in circles.
I believe that the spell was changed in update 11 or 12, and now is only damage per round not both per round and on entry.

The Fred wrote...

that is the reason why I am complaining

Yes, I found that quite frustrating when I first cast it, too. The behaviour makes sense, but can be very annoying when you're not expecting it.

Please, don't speak about the... manual
' about 20 pages full of nothing. You can't find rules, you can't find spell and items descriptions... you can't find anything!
