I was initially curious and let down by the Power mode of the Rogue's Specialist Tree. What was the use of a mere 3% stun per hit? True, a DW Rogue deals out individual hits rapidly and a stunned target is obviously .. stunned (i.e. not able to do anything). However, why call it Power?
Then I looked at the Slashing Power upgrade. More damage to stunned target. Hmm ... however the description of the upgrade leaves some things rather ambigous.
So, the queries:
1) How much more damage to stun targets?
2) Is the additional damage instant or damage over time? (description says "bleeding", implying DOT)
3) Do targets stunned by other means suffer extra damage from Slashing Power (description implies by Power)
And this leads up to:
If the extra damage is considerable, instant and works on any stunned target, is it possible to build a rogue focusing on damage via Slashing Power?
To my knowledge, the Rogue has 2 other abilities that induce stun:
1) Sabotage - Miasmic Flask: 4s stun, 20s cd (Improved Formula Upgrade: 6s stun, 15s cd)
2) Subterfuge - Evade - Tactical Withdrawal Upgrade: ?s stun, 10s cd
I am not the type to seriously sit down and analyze potential class builds - I play DA2 and most RPGs for the story and enjoyment (just fooling along on Normal). Here, I am just tossing some half-brained ideas together and see if it leads anywhere (probably not - I haven't have any that panned out). I am half-hoping some dedicated rogue player will come and tear my daydream into shreds.
Just to see if it works (if no-one responds), I plan to start a fresh rogue dedicated on this. I know I can respec but ... *minor spoiler* the horrible things that happened in the midst of Act 2 really killed my enthusiasm for my first run and I really don't have the heart to press through for now.
