Isabella, hands down, is my least favorite. Maybe that will change in my next playthrough when I use her in my party more but she's such a one dimensional snore, and her actions at the end of act two made me want to shank her. I wish the Arishok would have let me hunt her down rather than challenge me to the death. I liked the Arishok :<

Fenris sucks. Here's why....
He was a "slave" of a mage, yet he thinks it's ok for templars to enslave mages. You would think a prior slave would be more sympathetic to other slaves, mage or not. It's hard to do the right thing with him in the group cause he whines like a girl.

Carver
He takes after the mother: hard to please and pushy
Also, if he lives then he blames Hawke for everything. Though I hear, other people raggin on Hawke, he will try to protect her? And that doesn't make it any better, means he's two-faced and will stab even Hawke in the back if given the chance. What the hell?

Merrill, because although my Hawkes romancing her, I really don't see the point of having her in my party

Anders, I refuse to use him, good thing I can buy all the potions I want >.<
OT: I hate that unless you play a mage yourself, anders is the only healer

they say "he gave his life to save us" but in truth...no he didn't, he didn't help us at all, he just went and said "HEY KILL ME, I"LL AFFECT THE STORYLINE OTHERWISE"
I noticed that as well. All it did was ****** the Ogre off.

Merill and Anders, no question about it. Anders is just a time bomb ( which anyways showed itself at end of the game) and Merill is extremely selfish, unlike Isabela who whether give the tomb or not comes back and fights at your side.

Has to be Fenris for me. Whether playing a mage, warrior, whatever, his anti-mage thing always got in my way. I had to specifically choose which missions I would attempt without him as a tank (and lucky me they ALL happened to be the harder ones) just to keep him as a friend and tank at the end of the game. Agh!
As for Anders, I actually quite liked him. I understood him for sure, and I knew why he did what he did. I don't mean to say that wasn't evil (it obviously was), but he did what he thought he had to do and I supported him.
Lastly, Sebastian. Oh, how I hate him. I would have loved to kill him, given the chance, which I was not allowed, unfortunately. My only wish was that he was with the Grand Cleric at the time; woulda laughed my ass off.

I wouldn't say I hate Fenris, not really, anyway. He just annoys the hell out of me when I have to bring him along when I want to ally myself with the mages (which I feel obligated to do, considering the options). I love his story, but hate his attitude about it. That is, except when he gave a toast to my character (who was a mage, no less).

I think I have small issues with most of the party members. But top three:
Carver - you can not please this kid for nothing. Annoying as crap.
Merrill - I find her...naivity to be annoying. Not to mention I'm nice to her and I get rivalry points lol.
Isabela - Not only do I feel building her up to even use in my party is sub par compared to Varric, but her personality is all kinds of eh to me. And she obviously works her way around the party members.
Overall, they all complain about something continuously. I'd say its considerably more noticeable then DAO, but I still think that majority of them have good stories behind all the whining.

So much hate on Isabela. I'm curious when and how does she double cross Hawke? She's been pretty faithful (for lack of a better term) so far.

There were several party members I absolutely hated in this game.
Carver was annoying as hell. He needs to be hit on the head with a big sack of "Get over it". Oh no, I'm the champions younger brother and I'm always in his shadow, never mind that he couldn't do jack without me since his spells do no damage unless I stagger his targets first.
Fenris was pretty obnoxious too, the only time he started to make any sense was way at the end of the game where he was siding with the templars and the champion goes "I thought you were against slavery" and he finally realized that mages aren't evil, but people who opress others.
But the biggest character that just really annoyed me was Anders.
Holy crap that guy was a pain in the rear. Basicly he was the kind of guy where after I had the map from him I would have never spoken to him again, except the game forced me to. What an annoying self righteous little ******. Then he goes plunging the whole city into total chaos and kills a bunch of people.... Yea, I stabbed him dead for that little stunt, good riddance.
The really big reason Anders pissed me off was not so much his personality though, it was how the game forced me to be friends with him. Right when he attacked those templars in the church I would have cut him loose at the very least, since he obviously was dangerous, but noo. Then when he killed that girl, yea, I would have just killed him right there, he was obviously dangerous, but nooooo. I had to wait until he caused a civil war and mage genocide before I could finally go "Yeaaa, this guy is one of those mages that cause nothing but trouble..."
For that matter, I thought it was utterly ridiculous that Meridith didn't execute him on the spot and just left with the culprit completely untouched.

Hah. I am completely alone in this, but I really liked Fenris AND Anders, and was really torn on who to bromance. (Went with Fenris, cause he's clearly the more attractive of the two...~)
Merril, though. Hated her. Just boring and irritating.

I didn't like merril. Seemed like BW tried to recreate Tali, but somehow she's not nearly as adorable. I know that with proper setup, she's a complete beast with blood magic, but I didn't have the patience/interest, and I really think that any mage in the party SHOULD have a basic heal spell, just in case. Didn't really like anders either, but I almost always ended up using him because I liked the utility of being able to switch between fairly-competent damager and fabulous healer. I liked isabella, and especially liked her interactions with aveline, so I tried to use her, but as a rogue, varric was almost always more helpful. She's got more than a few wasted abilities that I didn't take the time to respec out, and she tends to die really quickly unless i'm controlling her directly. She was handy for boss fights, especially the high dragon, simply because she can REALLY bring the hurt, but overall she's too damn squishy. Aveline was good, but situational. I was playing on normal with a warrior hawke, so I didn't always need a dedicated tank. Aveline also always seemed to run out of stamina nearly immidiately, and her offensive abilities are really lacking. Bethany was good, I have carver on my second playthrough, and he's a prat, but he's still pretty powerful. I will replace him with fenris after the deep roads. Haven't gotten a chance to try sebastian yet, but I don't see how he'd be able to do a better job than Varric. Basically never used Fenris, because I already had a 2h warrior who was better at his job. That will change this time around.

Sebastian was tremendously boring.
Fenris just looks stupid to me. Not that he's an elf, but his clothes. I mean, I think Merrill and him both look pretty ugly (and the elves in general look alien, which I like), but his clothes just looked too silly for me to want to deal with him.
Anders was fairly dull for me as well, but he's the only mage that sticks around that has a heal spell. Really wish I could've kept my sibling.
I liked everyone else, including Merrill even though I think she looks gross. I wish I could've romanced Aveline. Stupid Donnic.

Aveline, too controlling/judgemental. Maybe it's because once again there is only one true tank companion, makes me sad. Would like more variety for my tanks please. I've actually resorted to using fenris or isabela as my tanks, but they don't stand up to high dragon and the such on harder difficulties.

Carver and Anders
Carver: Mr whinealot only whines and whines and whines grrrr always pisst he`s the smaller brother that stands in the shadow. I really loved the party banter when Varric compaired him to Gamlen they are bloody identical. Always themself bah! I saved Carver in the deeproads and made him an warden.
Anders: In Awakening he was funny and witty in DA2 he`s just crazy and even an bigger zealot then Meredith. I have never killed an companion before but Anders really had it coming gah always templars are evil this and that. And killing the only person in the Chantery that had an positive view sheesh

That's tough. Either Aveline or Varric. After the demo I thought I was going to like Aveline, but as the game went on I disliked her more and more. All those accusations and whining, and then that pathetic situation where she's afraid to talk to Donnic... I was not impressed with her. Varric... getting me into that mess with his brother is something I didn't get over, didn't like all his "embelishing", and I'm sorry if this sounds superficial but I'm a girl gamer who, if I'm going to have guys in the party wants the "eye candy" (like Anders and Sebastian) and Varric is not my type. I thought the voice actor for Varric did a good job though. Anders, Sebastian, and Fenris were my favorites.
