Carver. The main character said it best, "The second child act is getting stale."

Sebastian. With a passion.

Too bad I can't kill him or I would've done so in a heartbeat.

Fenris.
1. I was a 2h warrior, didn't need him.
2. Black and white with respect to mages. I sympathized with mages because of Bethany. And all my other apostate friends.
3. Couldn't do his quest in act 2 for some reason.

It's a tie between Merrill and Anders right now. I don't dislike either of them I'm just a little disappointed at how their characters turned out. I had such high hopes for Anders after Awakenings but sadly it was not what I had hoped for.

I was tempted to say Anders, however the rage I felt in Act 3 makes him a really good story character...

I'll have to go with Carver... unless you are super agressive with everyone except templars... he's constantly emo... I wish mages could have the option to get bethany rather than carver...

Carver was such a little whiny ***** that I was ecstatic to leave him in the Deep Roads to die. Go out and be a man, instead of crying about being in my shadow.

Fenris' total anti-mage view and complete emo broody thing really made me want to leave him in the Deep Roads too. No matter what, you couldn't please that guy. I was thrilled to slit his throat at the end.

I enjoyed the other characters to varying degrees. Isabela was funny as hell, as was Varric. Merill was adorable, could not help but romance her. I didn't use Sebastion much since he seemed to be a copy of Varric, but his religious ranting did get old.

I daresay Anders was the best character, not specifically from a personality standpoint, but from the sheer raw emotions elicited by his actions. Took everything I had on my first play to not side with the Templars after his stunt.

I enjoy having Carver in my party as a "red response" character. He plays the role of whipped dog quite well

Merrill.
She was just... I don't know, she was alright, but I remained completely indifferent, because she was just... like Sebastian, generic, apart from no more than one interesting aspect -namely stepping in the darker side of the world-, and that's it.

Carver, no competition. (Mind you I haven't played with Bethany yet.) As in, not even from Fenris, who annoys me even as a rivalmance. (Which I have to admit has been rather successful.) I also chased Isabela away after she screwed me over with the relic, although I might have done something different if I wasn't romancing a pro-Qunari tank.

I love Varric, which I wasn't expecting, and I actually rather like Sebastian even though he's a religious proselyte (is that a word?). But someday I must take Isabela and Sebastian out for a run...

Didn't like Anders, guess I kept imagining Old Anders (despite the warnings) so seeing him like this was sorta a let down.
Sebastian annoyed me to death with his mage issues and chantry obsessing and what not. Never took him anywhere I didn't have to.

Aveline...first of all, she looks like a guy from that band, Nelson. Second, her all-law-and-order tendencies make it hard to solve some problems by just killign the person who deserves it. I mean you can, but she throws a hissy fit. Lastly, she's always picking on Isabella, at one point even asking how she's so successful with men when she's not that good looking. Seriously? Aveline questioning Isabella's looks? I was mad Hawke couldn't butt in and set her straight right there.

I don't think I like Carver much, either. I haven't had him in the party past Lothering yet, but he seems boring. It's one thing to be a dependable rock for your friends. It's another entirely to be a wet blanket spoilsport. Heh.

Anders! He whines more than Alistair without the benefit of "humor as a defense mechanizm."

Oh Anders, what happened to you between Awakening and DA2? Did a Chanter of Light touch you?

Anders.

He's so radical that it's impossible to have a reasonable conversation with him about anything.

"Hey Anders. Nice weather huh?"

"ITS BLACK AND SAD JUST LIKE EVERY SINGLE MAGE EVER"

"Uh... okay. Want to go get food?"

"MAGES ARENT ALL ABONINATIONS AFIADIFHDAFIHWQTRHTWR"

Yay, I know what you mean. My mage currently wants to set him on fire. He doesn't do it because Merrill is usually in the room and doesn't want to subject that kind of violence to her innocent eyes.

Hmm...as second pick I would probably say...Fenris...? I mean it's not that I don't like Fenris, just he's constant whining about mages being evil is kind of annoying at times. Oh...and he broods too much. Broody.

I can't say I hate Sebastian, there just isn't much there for any sort of emotional reaction about him. Carver being a whiny little brother is actually kind of funny. I egg him on just to see if he'll finally do something. Pratically have to kill the guy just so he can start making something of himself (and he still whines about being the little brother). I like Aveline, disappointed you can't romance her...at least she gives you a kiss though. Merrill is cute and innocent...and violent. Isebella is cute for the opposite reason...and violent.

Aveline, she's ugly and pretty much useless, I also dislike Anders, he's a retarded healer that never actually does anything even when set up with specific tactics he still manages to be completely fail, not to mention i miss having Sarcastic Anders, now he just crys all the time and is generally annoying, come to think of it i never use fenris either, he's a douche.

I couldn't stand using Merrill, but I think she just didn't fit my party make up. She and Fenris were the 2 I made rivals out of.

Not using Fenris is probably why you think he is a douche. The guy just has a general dislike of mages and magic. Keep him away from that and he's a pretty upstanding guy. Oh...and don't mention the Weapon X Project around him...er...I mean...he's not Wolverine.

Hmmm... See... I only played through twice so far and as a rogue both times. Carver is toast in the first 5 minutes if you play as a male rogue! Varric is the only SANE character in the game as far as I'm concerned... and he kills his brother! They ruined Anders for me. Fenris is a piece of work too... loved killing him! I never put him in my party... didn't arm him with a weapon upgrade... and avoided him like the plague! I don't mind Merril at all... she's just kinda spacey. Isabella is... well... Isabella! She's a hoot to have around though and she does give good convo as the game goes on. The romance options though... ugh! You get a spacey Elf or a pirate ****... hmmm... hmmm... what to do?

That's not true. There is also the Moody Elf, the Emo Mage, and the Choirboy Archer. You know you want to be gay for them. -sigh- I think the Dragon Age development team might have a few problems.

People that say they don't like Anders! U MAD? He's an interesting character who was great all through Awakening. Unlike Fenris - Whiny 'emo' type (with the hair). Bad move I reckon.

Also, I urge you to give Aveline a go. I wasn't to impressed with her, but when you help her a little later on (Long Road quest), I couldn't help but warm to her a little.

Sorry folks - I played a mage and Fenris wasn't black and white about it. Yeah, he hated mages - but that douche Anders hated everything. He even joins me willingly in the end - he says: "The irony, I'm defending mages." ((I've heard from others he leaves - then rejoins you for the Meredeth fight))

====

As far the character(s) I hated:

Anders
Isabela
Carver
