I am enjoying the game greatly but something has happened that is sapping every inch of fun I was having out of it. I have been using two specific techniques with my rogue to hit any enemy I please for 3000 damage crits every 10 seconds and 1500 crits in between that time. It was rather fun and requires the help of Merril. I don't use a tank or a healer. I run with my Archer Hawke, Merril specced fully Spirit, Fenris with all two hand abilities and Isabela with every threat redirection and CC ability along with her +defense ability in her special tree.

It has been a blast taking out even high dragons with no healer or tank. But I made the mistake of respeccing my Hawke with the thing you buy at the emporium. RUINED. You guys may think I'm crazy for saying this but here goes.

I respecced and changed my stats to get a higher dexterity for a bow I wanted. I also dropped all the talents from the specialist tree in favor of more crit damage since the combo I found was so ridiculously affective. I loaded the game up the next day to find that it apparently corrupted my save file some how and bled the talents from the first save to the second. Now my hawke has 29 talents when I should only have 19.... That kills it for me. Every time I try to respec, it puts those old talents back in my tree, giving me an absurd amount of abilities and bonuses that I should not be able to have....

Cheats and exploits kill games for me. Someone told me about the rosebud cheat in the Sims, and I never played it again after it was ruined. So that's it you're asking??? Poor baby you got more talent points. I tried deleting all my saves sans one but they don't go away and when you respec you HAVE to spend every single one or you can't progress. This is only SEMI barable for me...

Then I discovered an even worse glitch. My character cannot disorient people by any means unless he is the only one in the party.... I can disorient with Isabela just fine but with my Hawke it is nigh impossible and that RUINS what I was doing to get this massive back to back crits. I can't disorient by critting out of stealth and none of my abilities that say 100% disorient, do so anymore.

I started a new file, and guess what? I bled over to that game as well. My maincharacter cannot Brittle, Disorient or Stagger anymore on any save file even on new games. I erased ALL my save files and tried again (backing up my high level one on a usb drive) and nothing.....

What can I do, the abundance of talent points was borderline, but couple that with no status effects and the fact that you can't make your companions respec to a different weapon type (Shield fenris, healing merril or Two hander Aveline) I don't know if I canbare this anymore.

Console dragon ages are pretty buggy right now. Gonna have to wait for a patch.

I'm sure the respec bug will probably be fixed by a patch (dammit, I hate how I always need patches right away with my RPGs), but I think the idea of not allowing you to respec your party members' talent trees is a good one, since the limitations and strengths of your party encourages you to mix and match party members for different missions (on higher difficulty levels).

"Normal" is WAY too easy, especially with all the goodies that Bioware gives you (so I got rid of them on my "Normal" saves), and makes my old Warden character seem especially weak. Hell, if my Warden had the power of my Champion, I'd have been more than happy to take on Flemeth or the Andraste-cult dragon while dual wielding a plastic spoon and a butter knife.

So wait? This bug is known already? Can you tell me the specifics of it?

I HATE the lack of respeccing weapon trees because what If I want to switch my party around and experience it with different people? Why am I stuck with Aveline and Anders always being on my team and only having the choice of one other person if I play a rogue????

One normal or hard it's fine. But on nightmare, if you don't have Aveline or Anders on your party you fail. No one else is capable of becoming a tank or healer proper. I am having a BLAST playing Felric, Merrill and Isabela. But it would be much more of a blast were I able to give either Merrill a weak heal ability (I.E not as strong as Bethany or Anders), or even a Heal over time on a long cooldown) or give Felric a means of increasing his damage resistance (not avoidance but overall damage resistance) beyond the meagre 12% i have now.
