I started playing, and the first time I went to Gamlen's house I found all my additional content in the Special Deliverie's chest except for the three tomes. When I opened the chest and I took all the items into my inventory I got a codex entry for tomes but none of the tomes appear in my inventory.

Does anybody else have this problem? If so is there any known solution?

You don't get actual tomes which you then have to use manually. You just get the Codex entry and an instant boost to cash, XP, as well as three runes in your inventory.
