I like that everyone was bisexual. It gives me, as a queer gamer, a chance to pick whoever I want instead of constantly having to deal with heterosexual-only options.
That said, oh Varric. :{ I wish you were an LI.
You guys actually call yourselves queer? I always though gay was the correct way to address ya'll without being offinceive.

Some people in the LGBT community use queer. I personally don't, and I still find it offensive, as do many other LGBT, so if you're not gay your safest bet would just be using the term "gay" or "homosexual" And of course lesbian is okay when talking about a gay woman generally.

Despite my fancy logo below my avatar, I haven't got a chance to run-through the game. My big sis is holding it hostage. And hogging the computer, obviously, to play DA2 again and again... ;_;

Yeah, I think the funniest Aveline one is when she's trying to woo Donnic and you can be all "Can't you see he's not right for you, Aveline" and try to get with her while he's confused and leaving.According to the Wikia, both Aveline and Varric get flirt options as well.

Yeah. I personally identify as queer, it's very reclaiming for me, but some people don't like it so I am careful to only use it in reagrds to myself. I just find using the term gay can be kind of erasing because most people hear gay and think of gay men, not lesbians.
But anyways:
I really wish Varric were romanceable.
If we don't get an official Bioware patch for this I really hope someone mods this ****.

:< Seriously though, I'm pretty sure that my strongest hopes lie in fanfictiondotnet and deviantart. Man, I'm starting to regret romancing Anders. He's full of crippling psychological issues and I'm not sure that his relationship with Hawke doesn't make it worse. Besides, I sorta feel like I'm emotionally cheating on him with Varric, and that it would be better just to resign Hawke to being single if she 'can't have her dwarf.
AND HE TALKS ABOUT THE LACK OF CUTE DWARVEN SERVING GIRLS, the handsome jerk. Lady Hawke - :'( "DANGIT MOM, WHY COULDN'T YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE SHORT APOSTATE TO RUN OFF WITH?"

i would love to see a Varric romance & an Aveline romance. & i dont understand why they gave that dalish chick in act 3 (not Merrill) any romance dialogue if they werent going to let us explore it.
so come on Bioware, give us a patch or even some DLC that opens up romances for Aveline & Varric, maybe even some non party characters like the dalish chick or the son/daughter of Hawkes neighbor leandra refers to.

If you were ever on the forums to begin with, it was stated a month before the game ever came out that they were not romance options. 4/6 companions (excluding your sibling and DLC) that are romanceable is already extreme. That's a lot of your followers that are all attracted to you and want to get in your pants. Having every single person in your party able to be romanceable is just ridiculous. I think it's nice that they even give you the option to flirt with companions. I don't understand the need to make every single person romanceable.

if they didnt want her to be a romance option then they shouldnt have put that dialogue in there. whats the use of "flirting" in a game if those choices wield "no results"?
and no i wasnt here a month ago when they announced that she wasnt going to be a romance option. im not a message board kind of person. i only started using this site on the 8th when i registered my copy of DA2

They put it in there because it leads to funny dialogue. Aveline is so oblivious, she doesn't even respond to most of your flirting.
I just don't see the problem with a character that will have her own life outside of the PC. She's attracted to someone else and she gets married to him. I think it's rather refreshing to see a character who isn't in love with the PC. She definitely wasn't written as a romance option; the person who wrote her has stated as much.

i dont see the problem with others having a life outside the PC either, and the flirtacious comments could have just as easly been filed under the sarcasm/joking icon & i wouldnt be saying a word about it. but they are filed under the "romance" icon. which leads people who dont read message boards & dont buy stratagy guides to believe she IS a romance option. but since they did put it under the romance tab i would like to see Bioware, make it happen.

Out of all of them he is the only one who doesn't have something wrong with him from the get-go, and who doesn't end up a madman, a terrorist, or a turncoat by the end of the game. Sounds like a keeper to me. Pity he isn't an option. Methinks an official DLC should be an option for Bioware, yes?

Varric seems to be the Only Sane Man in this batch. Even though he's sarcastic. Maybe because he's neutral, which is AWESOME.
One day Varric, you will see love far beyond the crossbow...

were there any flirt options with varric? i didn't see any though i did see some with aveline which was weird...
As far as flirting with non-romanceable npc's, I only saw them with Aveline too, although when I romanced Anders there was a point when Varric was like, "Listen, I noticed you've been getting pretty close with Anders." and the sarcastic option was, "Are you jealous?" but I picked the noble options during that scene which basically led to Varric saying he wasn't sure if getting involved with a possessed mage was a good idea, and I told him "Trust me Varric, I know what I'm doing."
wait wait when was that line with varric?
