So this is a question for people who imported their games from DA:O.  I was wondering if there were any differences with meeting Alistair in DA2.

Alistair King, Married Female Warden - This was my import.  He asks the champion to meet him in the keep, and he discusses kirkwall and relations with ferelden.  He called the Warden 'The ol' ball & chain'.

Alistair King, Married Male Warden - I saw this import on youtube, Alistair makes mention that the male warden has a name, not just 'hero of ferelden'.

Alistair King, Married Anora - According to Oblivious, shaunfletchernz and Azul7, their imported Alistair never makes mention of being married to Anora.  

Shaunfletcherzn did make mention of this: "My Dalish Warden made Alistair King and married him off to Anora but kept herself as his mistress. In the meeting Anora is not mentioned but if you talk to the bartender in the Hanged Man one of his pieces of news is something along the lines of "I hear King Alistair of Ferelden has an elven mistress...hope the Queen doesnt find out"

Alistair Drunkard - I saw this import on youtube as well, there wasn't very much Alistair in this version.  He is seen in both Act 1 & 2, and he mostly rambles.  Teagan finds him and takes him back to ferelden.

After that, he said he had to leave because he was on some important mission and then gave me an amulet that he said belonged to a friend of his (I imagine it's my Grey Warden from DA:O)

I'm onto Act 2 now, so I'll see what happens with Alistair. In my Origins game, I made him marry Anora, so it should be interesting to see what happens. So far I've heard people mention King Alistair, but no word of Anora yet.

I had Alistair King, with my Warden (fem mage) as his mistress and Chancellor. There's no reference to the chancellorship or their relationship, though.

I had the Alistair King, Married Female Warden scenario. I was a bit taken a back about the ball n chain comment. Seemed like he wasn't too enthused about his romantic relationship with the warden like he was in DA:O. I'd imagine over the years with all the struggles they are facing, may be he is just emotionally drained.

I did totally squee my pants off when i saw that the npcs fighting were "grey wardens" then Alistair appears!! 

Gave me an amulet, but i found it weird that he referred to my warden as a "old friend of his" and how she would probably like me to have it. She was the love of his life damnit, and why isnt she with him?? No explanation

Thank you so much for this update!  During my game, which was King Alistair married to Female Warden, that part of the game was just two random Grey Wardens.  I'm very glad to hear that in your game he was still involved somehow.

I'm really interested in hearing how this turns out!  David Gaider said that two Grey Wardens could NEVER have children, so I'm wondering if maybe Alistair would have a child that he might mention during your play through.  Please keep us updated!

I had Alistair being king, playing male Warden and had the same as: "Alistair makes mention that the male warden has a name, not just 'hero of ferelden'" after meeting Hawke, the first post makes mention of having married the Warden to have this, but this was not the case with me, as he ran off with Leliana.

From what I heard on the Alistair gush thread and another thread in the DA2 boards (PC tech help I think?) The romantic plot flags are importing incorrectly.

So Alistair is giving pretty much the same lines for a romanced as he would a non romanced warden. That would explain the out of character Ball and Chain remark, since that makes more sense to apply to Anora or political marriage to HNF.

Alistair King & Anore Queen, uninvolved mage warden that requested mage freedom: Maradith is lecturing Alistair about how he "can't do that". (you come in mid conversation) she leaves and you talk about  Alistair being cutoff from the intent of his meeting by maradith and mage Hawke returning to fereldan, ends with warden has a name not just 'hero of ferelden'.

But my Alistair import said "I don't care if she killed the archdemon", so I'm guessing it's the warden not Anora.  They had the same issues with Witch Hunt's imported game.  She thought we hadn't gone through the rutual which we did.  So maybe they'll come out with a patch to fix this, who knows. I

I hope so, I do still plan on playing through again, I want my Alistair not to talk back about my Warden!

Actually I liked it because it seemed they had a normal/healthy marriage. Teagan was kind of teasing him so I think he meant it to be lighthearted. You know how Alistair makes those jokes:

Alistair: "........alright...time to get back to the ol' ball and chains..."
Teagan: "You know the Queen hates it when you call her that..."
Alistair: "No she doesn't........doesn't mean because she killed the Archdemon, she can scare me...."
Teagan: "That's what you keep telling yourself your Magesty.."

Or something like that.....I thought it was hilarious!

I thought Alistair's lines about the ol' ball and chain were pretty hilarious. It sounds like a joke he would make, specially after it seems like my warden and him have a normal/healthy marriage.....

I loved that cameo. Made me miss Alistair humor.... T_T

Alternately, with Anora as queen, and Alistair *dead* (Arch Demon) you get the same thing, except the generic bearded warden gives the amulet.

Alitair looked so drawn out, his face seemed sad when you saw hims as king, I guess if his having all those issues with Ferelden he wouldnt have much to smile about, but still time hasnt been kind to the poor guy.

I had THE biggest damn smile on my face ever when I got the King Alistair quest. I totally wasnt expecting him to be in it, and I wasnt expecting so many other cameos as well which also made me smile but this was so amazing. I got the 'Ol ball and chain' line and it didnt bother me one bit. As I know that my warden and him have a healthy and humorous marriage. 

I also am interested in knowing about the other outcomes.

'Ball and chain', that's British humour, infantile but it's usually what you call someone when you love them very much but you want to make light of your dependence on them.

When Alistair is bickering with Meredith, she referenced how I tried to emancipate the circle (via Mage boon) in Origins. He was all pro mage and I loved it!

I keep trying to finish up my playthrough with just Anora ruling alone...but I keep getting drawed back to DA2.
