So has anyone found themselves totally stoked by look of the Staff of Parthalan that they use it quite a bit after you have outgrown its usefulness? I certainly have.

So I have a simple idea for a mod that someone should edit the stats for the Staff so that it improves with your level just like Fadeshear and Bianca.  Right now I am trying to figure out how to do it myself but I have not had much luck.

Happy modding!

I would like this also, the CG trailer for dragon age 2 has made this the staple aesthetic look for a mage hawke.

Oh and someone should probably also figure out how to mod in said weapon so the poor souls who missed the unlock code can have the staff as well... Once again I am not having any luck on this front either.

I tried to do this myself, but as far as my exploring, I ran into a dead end, I can't seem to export any kind of DLC data, it's like they have some kind of encryption.

My staff of parlathan upgrades with me (have to upgrade it manually :( ), deals physical damage instead of fire and is now hands down the best weapon ever :P

It's a WIP when I get it done I'll put up the tutorial.

Another thing you can do is find the .uti name for the staff by checking your save game (have it equipped to make it easier). Then equip a better staff that you've found, and use the save game editor to change the resource reference of the staff to the staff of parlathan's. That way, you'll have the visual appearance of that staff but the stats of whatever new one you're using. It'll be labeled "Staff of Parlathan" in your inventory but will use the item properties of the item you have.

It's how I give myself cooler looking items without cheating on the stats. :P

Could somebody please post the item description for the Staff of Parthalan. I've lost it somewhere in the game and can't find it and would rather not start a new game and play all the way to Kirkwall just to find out the description. Thanks.

Please do.  I think that it would be greatly appreciated.  I am doing one more runthrough of DAO before I actively start playing DA2, and I think I would love to use that staff throughout the game.

What do I need to change with the editor to change the staff to shoot fire instead of physical damage?

I found a tutorial on how to change the powers of the staff. But, I can't figure out how to change the base damage delt by the staff.

Here is the tutorial

http://www.thenexusf...e-modify-items/

The item_properties ID for having the staff level up with you is 9115.

Download the program in that thread. Go to documents\\bioware\\dragon age 2\\character\\[name]\\saves\\[savegame]\\[savegame].das and open it.

hit the + to open the tree, then open the tree SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR, then SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR, then SAVEGAME_EQUIPMENT_items. The first entry in the tree is your weapon, so open up that tree. It'll list the uti name of your currently equipped weapon. The first entry in that tree is a string--when you click it, the field in the bottom left of the editor will have the same text in it. Replace it with prm000im_parth_staff and hit the "save" in the bottom left. Then hit "save as" in the main file dialog, and replace your current save (make sure it's not your ONLY save mind you).

Then reload that save, and your item should look like the staff of parthalan, be named the staff of parthalan, but have the stats of whatever staff you equipped before.

It's the 16238 index.  Change it to the effective level you want the item to be.  The champion armor pieces are 24, the DLC Staff of Parthalan is only 11.  I changed it to 24 and it now has amazing stats. :)

Weird... When I add the 9115 Property it nerfs the base damage and effect the other properties of the staff.  Have you figured out how to avoid this?

Doesn't Work for me, gets rid of my equipped staff and gives me a basic staff.

As a side note, if you get bored with the Parthalan staff try this one

seb200im_allure_staff

It's a simple crooked wooden stick, very minimal and cool.
