Different scenes based on class? (spoilers)

I'm curious about what happens here with different classes, and I don't expect to immediately follow up with another playthrough (maybe later), so I thought I would just ask. Would this scene have played out the same way with a mage or a warrior Hawke? Would I have had a different scene play when I selected that option? Would I even have had that option at all?

How did your Hawke handle the Blood Mage in the Blooming Rose. My party consisted of Anders, Fenris, Varric, and MHawke Mage. She did her Jedi Mind Trick on me and no one stepped in, and I had the bottom left option (icon was star) which allowed me to resist her all on my own. I do not have Blood Magic either so I assume it was a Mage only option.
There have been a bunch of options where either Anders or myself can pipe in as a Mage, and to show some people he's a mage my Hawke will do a glowy hand spell.
Other than that, no special Spell kills yet, my Hawke pulls out a dagger to threaten someone, or to kill this one guy.

Also as godoffire said, there are multiple chances to show mages that you want to help them by telling them youre a mage.
As for that scene you mentioned, I didnt get a chance to see if there are class-specific resolutions, as I had Varric convince the hostage taker to let the hostage go as well as give me some gold, which was pretty awesome
Edit:
I just played through that scene as a rogue, and I did have the option for killing the guy that was not there as a mage. So it definitely appears to be different for different classes, which I think is pretty awesome.

I feel like a lot of the neat variations here get glossed over when people evaluate the game and call it shallow.

like that sidequest where you help that half-elf mage, i was able to just go "hey im a mage too, see my glowy hands?" and everyone was all cool with it, if you weren't a mage i wonder how that works.

yeah, i was wondering how alot of those scenes would play out because me being a mage effected alot of things.

Yeah it's kind of funny!
Mage in trouble: "Help Me"
Mage Hawke: "Hey I'm a Mage too, LOOK glowy hands!"
Mage in trouble: "That's legit!" End of dialogue lol!

I played it as a rogue and I was able to go: Look, Im related to a mage. Bethany, show him your glowing hands. I wonder what happens if you dont have a mage in the party.
In addition to this, I wonder if there are any special dialogue options if you pick the Templar spec as a warrior. Kind of a similar situation with the opposite result.

In the hostage situation: the guide says throwing the knife only appears if you're a rogue, and it's the same knife Isabela pulls off of Hawke in their mid-story fling.
As for Idunna: if you have Merrill she can help Hawke out. What happened with me is I started to turn my knife on her and killed her, again it is the same knife Isabela pulls of Hawke in their first romance scene in the mansion.

that scene really impressed me, no you don't have this option when you play mage, however, Varick can handle this situation without any killsRallion01 wrote...
I'm playing through as a rogue. I've noticed a few things that Hawke does are extremely "rogue-like." The one scene that sticks in my mind is when you walk into a hostage situation. One of my dialogue choices resulted in Hawke killing the hostage-holder with a thrown dagger.
yeah, I've checked it few times with different companions, only mage can handle this without killing her, so if you are mage, you can resist her charms by yourself, if you are not, you should take Anders or Bethany with you, Merrill should work the same way, but I didn't try it. Btw if you kill her after resisting her charms, mage that helped you to resist will get +5 friendship and also Isabella gets +5 friendship if she is on your partygodoffire04 wrote...

The most obvious example of this is the start of the game, where you use magic if your a mage to defeat darkspawn, or parry and cut with double daggers, or annihilate with warrior.

Similarly, killing the Ogre as fake Hawke at the very start is different as a Mage than a Warrior or Rogue.

It's pretty obvious, but all "boss death" cut scenes are class based. I remember killing the Arishok on my Warrior, He took a 2h Sword that was sticking the ground and impaled him whereas my Rogue took both her daggers to his gut.

Yeah Mage has a special kill for the High Dragon. But I don't think I remember my Mage doing a special kill for the Arishok? I know that crap was really hard as a Mage! Did anybody else get a special Mage kill? I think he just kinda crawled up the steps and talked to me, then died.

Definitely both features I'd like to see more of.

My mage jammed her staff into his chest and tazed him to death. I have already lsot Isabela by this point so I don't know how it would happen if you duel for her.godoffire04 wrote...
