Did it feel more like months between acts and not years?

Am I the only one who thought that the gaps between acts felt like months and not years? To me the transitions didn't really feel that significant. There wasn't a significant change in the Kirkwall world-at-large from Act I to Act III. Outside of a few deaths and rescues, everything was pretty much the same.

That's why I slightly tweaked my Hawke's appearences between acts so it looked like he aged.

The party banter definatly made it feel that way. In Act 3 they kept talking about the Qunari like it had just happend the day before instead of 3 years before.

I thought of doing that too, but between the running back and forth between districts, I forgot!

Also, a thought just came into my head... How can party members be revived yet there is no way of reviving people in the Dragon Age world outwidth combat? Obviously I understand for gameplay's sake that there is a revive option but it just puts thoughts into my head.

Ha! I did this too!

To me it did feel like only months have passed. Especially since I romanced Fenris and I found it crazy that it took him three years to talk about what happened between them in Act II. Really this is the case with everyone. On one hand it feels like too much has happened off-screen, but on the other hand they'll bring some things up and you'll wonder why they didn't have a single moment to talk about this in the past three years.

I think overall the game felt a little rushed, so that probably contributed to it.

Totally agree- at most it feels like maybe 3 months passes between acts, not 3 years.

And what's worse is the feeling that Hawke was comatose in between acts.

The framing story in general is a failure, there is no real reason why these events had to take 7 years. The framed story and the long time period of the game's events add nothing to the story or the experience. You could just as easily make the events of DA2 take place in 3 years and nothing would change and nobody would know the difference.

Ack seriously! I'm generally alright with it, but to say I actually felt the years passed would be such a blatant lie. Maybe if my environment changed past some new looting spots, relocated NPCs, and the new occasional quest.

There's a codex on it. Basically, when they fall in battle... there's still some life in them. They put it in more fancier words but they're just heavily wounded when they fall in our case.

It definitely came out as such. The world should have been way more dynamic to reflect time passing by if it wanted to show years progressing on. I mean, I know things progressed slower in that day, but not that slowly.

2 or 3 years would have been more plausible. It seems like no one enters Kirkwall (even well after the Blight and the refugee situation isn't much of a problem anymore) and the only people who leave are those that die.

And then when you try placing that into perspective, it's like everyone all of a sudden decided to talk about events from 3 years ago. I don't anyone spends that much time talking about things from 3 years ago as often as the citizens of Kirkwall do.
