The most interesting character that I've come across so far in the DA2 universe has been the Mage Quinari.

But no, BioWare has him kill himself? WHAT?

Instead we get a neutered Anders again? Come on BioWare .. how did you NOT see this great opportunity to give us a truly unique character?

I was actually Quite suprised you don't get a Qunari companion. There was even a Tal'Vashok deserter who helps you as well, who left the strict code of the Qun. He would have been interesting.

Probably because said Qunari was a follower of the Qun, and would prefer to follow it's teachings to the letter instead of gallivant about with an non-believer. If he had been a saner variation of the Tal-Vashoth, then I would have also felt somewhat cheated about not recruiting him into the party. As it stands however, given the stance the Qun has on it's mages and how they are psychologically conditioned to expect no less I wasn't at all surprised by what happened.

In my opinion that Qun mage was interesting BECAUSE of how he was handled.

I was expecting/hoping for a Qunari companion, and when I saw the Mage I got real excited. I was a bit disappointed but it was a nice quest to learn more about the Qunari way of life.

Yeah, the Qunari Mage would have been a great character, especially if developed properly.

I thought the exact same thing when he finally started talking. How freaking awesome would a growling Qunari Mage have been to fight alongside you.

Mmm yes but alas... Maybe mods will do something. Even if he's not a full proper companion, I'll live.

I guess because he reminded me of Kimarhi from FFX .. same type of personality it seems, only this one is way stronger.

Just figured he was very interesting, as soon as I saw him I thought that. Oh well.

Yeah, I was really hoping he might be a secret companion or something. :(

He was interesting because of what he believed, had he been a companion then the way it was handled wouldn't have happened and he wouldn't have been as interesting.

I do agree to an extent. Larger companion miss out was Flemeth IMO. Will be making a FLEMETH FOR DA3 COMPANION banner at some point.
