No doubt at all - DA2 is the far supior game.
I died a little inside.
And I'm pretty sure I broke an aneurysm.
Eyes flooding with blood...that can't be good.
At least if I go blind I won't have to read another one of your posts (probably along the line of ''Halo is so much bater then Planscape'') or go through another failure of a game by Bioware.

Anyone saying that DA 2 is as good as or better then Baldur's Gate (other then maybe Dark Alliance) is trolling.
Yes, because if someone has a different opinion from you it MUST mean they're trolling...

Dragon Age 2's combat is pretty much a genocide simulator.
Hawke kills more men than the 5 Blights combined.
This is one of my biggest gripes in just about all modern RPGs, actually - what I've come to call "Bloodbath Style Combat". Every encounter you come across, you can expect the number of deaths to reach bloodbath proportions. Expect to kill close to 100 people in the process of investigating a single building, and somehow this fails to cause a population crisis.
Origins also had this, to some extent; the number of foes often bordered on the insane. This is one of the many things I prefer about the old Baldur's Gate games; enemies had more realistic numbers, but each one was challenging.
But I suppose the majority want bloodbaths, and so Bioware gives them bloodbaths. I just find it so unrealistic.

Having an opinion is one thing. Having an opinion that is blatently meant to provoke people is another.

No self respecting gamer who has played both games in their respective time periods could compare DA 2 to BG 2. The latter was a trend-setting, epic game. The former a silly attempt at joining genres and a blatant attempt at stealing money. DA 2 worth $60? No way. $25 would be pushing it with its short play time, shallow storyline and characters, and repeated areas.
People who disagree with you lack self respect. Got it!

To be fair, in Origins it actually makes sense because the whole point of the game is to quell the Blight, which is a massive invasion. In II, it seems there are far more bandits and thugs than actual citizens of Kirkwall.

EDIT: Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn holds a 91. Make of this what you will.
rosebud, there are plenty of sites around who rated other RPG's higher than Baldur's Gate.

DA2, while good and enjoyable, is not the sort of title that will have people arguing over the relative strength of character builds, party makeup, etc ten years later.
So... nope.

I love the old Infinity engine games. I've been hankering to play BG1 and explore Durlag's Tower again for a while now (and I'll probably end up dragging whatever character I make through the entire series for the 20-somethingth time). PST is far-and-away the greatest story-telling gaming experience of my life to-date. But, at least I'm man enough to admit these early games from my childhood have glaring problems with them.
