The title says it all ! I have registered the game under my accounts , but when I try to
view my characters online  I get a link that says " Activate Online
Profiles " but it does absolutly nothing when I click on it , it just reloads the page . This has been going on for 5 days now ( since the 8th )

. When I registered Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age Awakining they showed up the next day . I did figure that it would take a day or so before I could view my Dragon Age II characters but Five days does seem a little excessive .

Anyway , thanks in advance for any assistance in getting this taken care of .

I noticed that this link seems to required that the game is running when you click on it first. After this, you can access your DA2 online profile(s) even if the game is not running.

Hi, I came to this thread because I was having the same issue. I kept hitting the "Activate Online Profile" link and nothing happened. By chance I clicked the link below it that read "Pc/Mac" or something close to that and it worked, now I can see my DA2 characters. Hope this helps.

Perhaps you could start a new thread under " How Do You Activate Online Profiles ? Here's How to Fix It " or any title that you come up with since you figured it out first ?

Again I can't express how much that we appreciate your post !!!

This was a browser issue for me.
Clicked the "Activate Online Profile" link using IE8 and I got the pc/mac link mentioned above.
Now it works in Chrome too (my browser of choice)

Thanks for this - alas it doesn't work for me.

It sounds like the "Activate Online Profile"  link is still there even after your online profile is created because I have no text under that line. It just has a horizontal rule and then lists the Dragon Age: Origins info.

I'm guessing that since a lot of people seem to be having this issue, it's a bug in the system and we'll just have to wait for the web guys to fix it. I wonder if it's the web browser? I use Firefox 3.0.7. I might try it in IE ... just out of interest.

Edit: Alas, no difference with using different browsers. Although in IE the gap between the DA2 and DA:O sections widened slightly after pressing the "Activate Online Profile"  link, but no extra text appeared.

Were you playing the game and logged on in the game when you clicked on the "Activate Online Profile" ? Several people told me that pushing the key with the Windows flag on it while playing the game which brings you back to Windows and clicking on the "Activate Online Profile" link solved the problem for them . It'll save time if you already have your browser running and logged on to your profile since the game uses a whole lot ot your processing power . It's just something to try since it works for some players .

I got it working last week without needing to have the game running. Clicked on the Activate link under my DA2 page and the PC/Mac link came up, after which I could see my profile. It's a little more clumsy than the system used in Origins, but it works now and has done so quite well.

I was having this same trouble, and I use Chrome as my browser. I loaded the bioware page with IE and it works just fine. Thanks for the info everyone.

Same problem here, but also IE doesn't work. When I click either nothing happens or a blank line below the "Activate Online Profiles"-line appears.

I eventually got my account to sync my character, but it seems that none of the achievements did.

Guys and Gals.

Think I found the solution. At least it's source of my problems with my profiles not being created and updated on my bioware social profile page.

I use a shortcut to the .exe with -devel...consoleblahdiblah.

Starting the game through this shortcut and my profile is never updated eventjough I'm logging in when the game starts.

However.. If I use the official launcher and click "Play" my profile is updated (although most of the info is still old, like items I'm wearing) it does update my achievements and level/xp for my char.

I tested this a few times and it's quite consistent, using the launchar does update the site while using a shortcut (with or without the -enabledeveloperconsole in the targetline) to the main DragonAge2.exe doesn't update the site at all.

Could some of you test this please?

Hope it helps!

Using the developer console has the side effect of not updating your online profile. This is by design, and the exact same behavior as DA:O/DA:A. (And if you think about it, makes sense...anything the devs do that way for testing is probably not something they'd want to see in their profile, and anyone else using it is debugging/"cheating"/playing around.)

If you use the dev console normally, and just want to update your profile, then just log in using the "normal" launcher or a vanilla shortcut as Tricky describes and everything will work...normally.

EDIT to add:  However, I think most of the folks here are having the same problem I've seen, where profile updates are sporadic/delayed.  It seems "better" to me than DA:O was, but only somewhat.

I had the same problem. If you click on the ' active online profile' link about 10-12 times it will kick in. Well, it should! Good luck!
