I don't like her. It's a personal preference, but basically it goes like this: in the games that I have played, women in those games are either prudes (no sexuality) or trollops (hyper-sexed). Forgive my use of the terms, they are the best I can think of right now. I can't even think of a male character in a game that has been portrayed as hyper-sexed as Isabella is in this game. I just bothers me.
I didn't like Isabela all that much. Anyone else concur?

I had Merrill + bethany and Isabela in my group for the whole act 1 and well, it was funny and sweet at the same time. She acts a bit like an older sister for merrill, and to an extent, for Bethany, too. "Kitten" is as sweet as Varric's "Daisy" I think

I find Isabela sort of amusing, especially when talking to Aveline...

Her and Anders would be gasping their last breaths bruised and bleeding in a ditch somewhere if I had the option.

Playing through as a mage now and getting to know her more, I like her ok, but mainly only for her comments while walking around.

Everyone needs a shamlessly promiscuous pirate lady!
I don't mind promiscuity; she just looks ridiculous. It isn't sexy to look like your chest is about to explode.
THIS i can get behind. 100%.

I liked her. If you are a noble and do the right thing type of a Hawke she stabs you in the back. If you show her friendship and loyalty no matter what she will face down the Templar army with you.
She tests your loyalty almost as much as Anders, except she ends up doing the right thing in the end.

The writers have really covered their bases with Isabella on all fronts - especially with her promiscuity, and I thank them for that. Just gotta pay more attention to the team banter. She's a closet softie.
Personally I could care less about how she looks. It's more her attitude I took a shine to. Granted she's a flawed character and has made plenty of mistakes, but she isn't completely without principle. She does reach out to help people, and like plenty of other people have already mentioned she does come around.
The seemingly terrible things that some say Isabela is responsible for pales in comparison to what Anders did.

I didnt really like her, until the scene where she give back Merrils item that she bet on. Love her to bits now.
(It wasnt due to her being worldy or anything, just wasnt interested in her as a PC and I was a rogue so never used her in my first playthrough)

but it was like Garrius
Is Garrius the gay alternative persona of Garrus?
Anyway, my feelings on Isabella.
There are none, I was playing a hawke mage who went the diplomatic/good natured root and I found it very hard to keep her friendship up, I also barely found time to take her with my group since Varric was my best buddy, Aveline the tank and Fenris was my stasis ownerer.
She took the book and left, also left a note which meant I couldn't get Ambrosia for later in game, I was hoping then, that I'd bump into her with the chance to murder her.
Bioware let me down that day.
Yes. Garrius is his fabu twin. He has nice fringe. and i type pretty at 5am with no sleep after a Dragon Age 2 Binge.
I too played a mage, i play a snarky character- and as such i had absolutly no issue maxing Isabellas friendship. But i can see how that would be hard with an exceptionally lawful character.
But ..this shouldnt shock...anyone- It would be out of character for a pirate to be buddy buddy with a lawful -anything- character.

I liked Isabela's voice because she sounded like Angelina Jolie with an accent. That was about the only thing I liked about her...

She's a good person who doesn't believe she's worthy of love.

I think Zevran was very sexual. And Ohgren as much of a perv. It's just harder to show it visually with men, I guess, as their body parts don't hold as much sexual association. I find it liberating to see a female character show such a careless attitude towards sex, but I do agree that it becomes too much of a main focus. Though, in a way, it makes it all the more satisfying to discover that that's not all there is to her.

for mean it two fold as a person she seems like to have a vulgar humor and personality but you see her eventually to be a decent person in short i treated like a friend as she suits that better as a love interest merril is far more interesting as unlike many video game love interests she doesnt throw herself at you.

Ya know, I really hated her at first, but in my second playthrough I brought her along all the time and talked to her every chance I got and she really grew on me by the end, she has the greatest conversations with Varric also.

No, I don't concur. I love her, and I do think she is multifaceted. She initially comes across as a selfish hedonistic pirate -- which she is to some degree. But when taken down the right paths you learn that she does want to be a good person and, especially through her protective, big-sister interactions with Merrill (extremely endearing, by the way), that she is a caring and true friend. I love how she calls Merrill "kitten", and takes her under her wing. It is refreshing to have two female LI's who are close friends instead of rivals, as is usually the case.

I didn't really care for her, but then again i hardly kept her in my party. I was a duel wielding rogue and besides a tank/healer, i would often use and archer character. on the odd times i had her with me she didn't stand out. and then the wench ran off and left me even though i was going to protect her and all =/
