Darn you adults and your ability to call in sick! My jealousy knows no bounds.

What do you do that can't be excused with simulated sickness or booty?

What occupation has me call working folks "adults" and does not allow me to call in sick?

Student.

Technically speaking, I do get a day off on the 3rd, but it's very likely that I won't receive DAO that day. <_<

The problem with the really bad diarrhea excuse is that a bout of diarrhea shouldnt last you more than a day or two. If it does it becomes a problem which requires going to the ER. So that excuse would probabaly only last you 2-3 days at most.

And as for the jury duty thing, I have very little sympathy for you. Assuming you already went through the interviewing process and were chosen, then its entirely your fault. Saying things to exclude you from jury duty is very easy. I always have an excellent excuse for getting out of jury duty by just saying "My uncle has been a legal strategist for 25 years and I am biased towards plaintiffs." Deuce.

I study and call in being sick or claiming getting booty. Still, I don't even have to call in since the lectures are not mandatory.

If you have exams, that is a pain.

Which of my relatives from out of state are... *cough* still alive? I lost track. :)

Seriously, though. No. I'm not taking off of work to play a game so they can pile more work on me while I'm gone. (Sick for 6 work days, had to telecommute from home, and they still managed to accumulate stuff for me to do on a quick deadline when I returned.)

My attendance is mandatory. Although... I may have a shot at staying home on Wednesday. Loathe as I am in falling behind and risking my grade in calculus,  my sole class that day (and only that Wednesday), I...am willing to take that risk. Being a student requires sacrifices. It's all for the greater good. And my decision is completely objective.

Sadly, none of these excuses will likely get me out of jury duty next week.

Just go there dressed as this. When they comment, claim that you take your civic duties very seriously. When they finally try to throw you out, complain loudly. Don't forget to use comments such as "anarchist fascist jews!" and "communist moneylending zionists!".

C'mon. Can there be anything easier to get out of than jury duty? :P

I think calling in saying your hemorrhoids are flaring up and you got a "turtle popping out" will probably get you out of work. It sort of is along the same lines as the diarrhea excuse. You'll get a tremendous amount of sympathy and they will not want the details.

[For men] Tell your boss you need to take the day off so that you can score with a hawt redhead. Or a sultry brunette. If he is male- especially a single male-, he will totally give you time off. And you won't be lying when you come back and give him a high five.

Don't listen to her folks, two things will happen from her advice.

a) Your boss will give you even more work because he is jealous

B) He might try to steal the girl from you, and realize it was a lie.

I've got a relative visiting so no faking an illness for me, though if I work at it I might be able to come down with the swine flu, would that help? on second thought i think that would cause more problems than it solves, i hate trying to focus on anything (even video games) when i'm sick. No I think I'll have to wait for the weekend to really begin my marathon playing.

I'm both unlucky and lucky

Unlucky: When the game comes out I still have nine days of exams left

Lucky: After that I get about six months off until the universities decide wether to let me in or not

I work in a hospital and they are freaking out about the H1N1 flu epidemic, aka swine flu, they would give a 10 day quarantine frome work if someone gets it, and they are asking other employers to do the same, they don't even want a doctors note.

I purposefully scheduled a fake "doctors appointment" right around noon so I can come in and get all my work done and then take a half day lol. That way you don't miss any work and it's completely understandable especially when your coworkers know you have a far commute.

I'll just tell my boss the truth, that a Blight is stirring and I must go off to fight it for the good of the land. And if he says no, I'll just shout very loudly "For Ferelden!" and charge off brandishing a sword. Image IPB

"Can't go to class. Doing my thesis..."

Then again, it's a useless excuse considering that I'm on my final semester and I have only 2 days worth of classes every week...so that means the rest of the week is either work, thesis or DAO.

As for my part time job...

"We have a group activity for (insert name of random subject here)"

Considering that I'm a working student and it worked flawlessly during the final weeks of the 1st semester I don't see this one failing me when I need some quality time to play DAO...XD

Alas! I've bene out of work sick for nearly two weeks, so not only do I not have a good excuse, I have to do a lot of catch up work, which means I'll just have to sacrifice sleep to play.

Ah, well. I got enough sleep while I was sick, yes?

No problem for me I'll just stay up all night playing, then come to work the next day drowsy and regretting ever doing it... then after work go home and do it again, Wash, rinse, repeat.
