So long as it mimics origins and not what was changed in awakening, i will be happy. Bugs are a given

i. plot and game structure: please move either towards a more open world with a looser narrative (Mass Effect 2, the Fallout Series) or towards a more closed world with a more linear narrative (the good bits of NWN2, The Witcher, Deus Ex). I felt that DAO had a very baggy middle, which was overly tangential to the main plot: for me this has limited its replay value. BG1 and 2 had both the driving plot and the open world, and while I'd love to experience that again in a modern game, it seems to be impossible: the money says 'no'.

ii. although I've formerly been someone who's rather short-sightedly asked for more character development and dialogue amongst the party companions, when DAO gave me what I wanted, I found that I regretted it. Engaging as the companions were, they seem to have acted like leeches, sucking up game resources that could have been better spent on the underpopulated, mediocre areas. The world rarely seemed truly alive outside of the party camp. So, in future, I'd like to ask for there to be more characters worth interacting with who aren't followers, even if this means cuts in companion banters and conversations.

1) No voiced PC

2) Reworked specializations, should only be able to choose 1 spec, but make it very in depth, it should be like taking on another class at level 7 or maybe 12. For example, a rogue could go either assassin style (some stealth based damage abilities, mostly straight up damage), thief style (lots of stealth, debuffs), or duelist style (two handed quick warrior). I never felt like a blood mage, a templar, or an assassin throughout all my playthroughs. I still felt like a measly generic warrior from level 1 to 25.

3) More linear plot. There was a giant thread about this, and I agree, at least half the plot should be linear (maybe the intro for around 4-5 hours, and the ending for around 4-7 hours). This allows the developers to create mroe reactivity because they know what companions you have and what main quests you have solved.

4) More variety in enemy types. Again, there were many theads on this. All the enemies in DA:O felt exactly the same, just run in, spam buttons and tank. The world needs more variety too, it isn't fun just fighting humans, wolves, bears, and darkspawn over and over again. I'd look over at NWN2 and WoW as a model. WoW for bosses and NWN2 for enemy variety.

5) Reworked loot (ties in with the above linear plot): With a more linear plotline, the devs can strategically place loot as you progress, so instead of finding +1 dagger or +3 silver on every single corpse for the rest of the game (aside from a couple bosses who usually drop a generic green), perhaps you'll get a nice unique dagger from one of the lead bandits, or a sick sword from an orlesian chevalier.

6) Mages are fine, just introduce more "mage-killing" enemies. If you're a mage in DA:O, you essentially have no counter; hell, I don't even remember if the templars tried stunning me. Enemies, on normal, should be smarter and exploit the one mage's vulnerability, by stunning and occasionally disrupting them through ranged or melee abilities.

7) At least ONE large city please: Denerim, although I was forced to watch that schematic every single time I moved from place to place, never felt large to me. It felt like a couple elven houses and a few shops and a castle. At least focus your resources to make THE CAPITAL CITY OF FERELDEN, a capital city. I understand it isn't cheap, and takes time away, however, I think making one fairly large-sized city is doable, leaving all the other villages around the same size as Redcliffe or Orzammar.

What I would like to see:

Story wise more focus on politics/"human" problems ala George R.R. Martin (maybe factions of some sort).

I like the companions and dialog system in DA:O (as opposed to Awakenings), but would liked to have seen more substantial companion quests (like in ME 2). Leliana's and Morrigan's were ok since they involved hard fights (Leliana's really reminded me of BG 2 for some reason), but the others were pretty lame.

I thought the graphics were fine, but I did feel like the abilities could use some work. The new abilities introduced in Awakenings were with few exceptions terrible. If the protagonist in DA2 is the same, they should probably start him over from scratch.

A Grey Warden prestige class? I was kind of surprised there wasn't one in DAO to be honest, and it could make the prospect of recruiting companions into the Order more interesting (like in KOTOR II).

The keep in Awakenings was a good idea. I'd like to see a more substantial version (as in NWN 2 or BG2:ToB).

What I don't want to see:

Multiplayer, for reasons already discussed, waste of resources, compromises single player experience.

While Warden voice acting would be great, as already discussed if it means giving dialog options it's not worth it. Although as someone else mentioned it would be nice if there was some indication as to what the tone of the PC's response is supposed to be ie. (Joke) or maybe different, fonts, colors in the text.

Anything that seems like a major retcon. Obviously there are many aspects of the Thedas setting we don't know much about, but future developments I feel should expand and deepen our understanding, or solve mysteries we are already aware of (ie. where Golems come from in DAO), not radically change it, as with the Darkspawn in DAA. The established DA canon is in my opinion substantial, compelling and very interesting. Throw to many curveballs at the audience however and they lose interest, and you start to look like George Lucas.

I think no voice for the PC is good and should stay that way , i much prefer to not hear someone saying something on my behalf , your imagination can do your own voice :) .Also from a technical standpoint no voice for PC saves them alot off effort .

Loved DAO , thought it was excellent , i hope the follow up stays almost the same with just minor tweaks .

And those tallking about multiplayer are just wasting forum space to be honest . Go play a multiplayer game :) . Be a complete waste of resources , this game doesnt need those gimicks.

In the story area. I'd like a better story.  Tell a better story I'm getting tired of being one of the only few of your kind or very few of you around. It's always getting into some secret group then most of them get killed off or there are only a few of your group around that can't help you. Come one Bioware do a different story for a change so all your games don't feel the same.

Yeah I was going for that, but then I noticed that less party members=more dialogue. I want to change that to:

-More party members :)

-make dagger models that look like daggers

-current "daggers" should be re-labeled as short swords

-have the gryphons return in some form, even if just a story element

-if the PC is a warden, add a specialization class for wardens, whether rogue, mage, or fighter

-give a specialization for a rogue/mage hybrid class since ones exist for fighter/mage and rogue/fighter

-add more exploration options to areas, possibly enabling climbing and swimming animations

-allow for PC phenotypes as well as facial customization, I want a fat dwarf character!

-give distinction between elven mages and human mages so each will have flavor

-DON'T voice the PC in dialogue unless you record alot of dialogue options
