Sorry If some already posted it but after making quest with resucing guard in ambush and talking with Avaline in right way there is heart option (Playing Female Hawk )

Is it normal ? Becasue I dont see Avaline on romance list on dragonwiki.

No, you can't romance her unfortunately. You can flirt with her and TRY to romance her, but she ignores you. It's actually kinda sad and a little bit annoying.

Bah, wasted my first playthrough then trying to romance her. Made so much sense to me to for my character, we had been through a lot together, its quite disappointing to now find that you cant actually romance her properly. Was quite upset when she finally got married after the intermission.

Well lets hope modders will fix that problem (or at least Bioware make some dlc allowing to romance Avaline )

I think bioware should have made Avaline romanceable she is one of the games best female characters as to the marriage angle bioware should have made it possable for Male Hawke and Avaline to get married.The thing I don't get is Bioware said that they were not going to make her romanceable because of her marriage with Wesley but then blam they turn around and throw that right out the window and put her with that bum Donnic that was really stupid if you had intended to let Avaline move on it should have been with Male Hawke.

Ok so WTF. there are 4 females in the game total. 1 is your sister so no romance there that would just be sick. and avaline isn't an option.... but they give u plenty of gay guys hitting on male hawke...... is this to make up for that BS with Mass Effect 1's love scene? now they have to just put a bunch of gay guys in the game. oh we get 2 females 1's a blood mage abomination and the other is a **** with more seamen on her shirt than on her boat. Biggest fail in the game IMHO.

Are you serious? There are two females and two males, all are open to both sexes. If you don't want either of the females or either of the males, you can just stay single or go to the brothel. All the romances are messed up in their own way (hello, Anders), so the whole "omg wah it's so unfair omg gay guys so gross" angle is getting old fast.

And Aveline is great. Sadly there are only flirt options, but I thought helping her with her romance woes was adorable so I wasn't mad.

The thing is with Aveline I still think bioware dropped the ball on that one I would give up Isabella for her in a heartbeat. Don't get me started on the mess they made with the Romances I mean everybody is Bi Really except Sebastion.

Here is how the romances should have been in my opinion anyway
Male Hawke Romances:
Avaline
Merril

Female Hawke Romances
Sebastion
Anders

Male/Female Hawke Romances
Fenris
Isabella

I think the reason Aveline isn't romance-able is because A. she's a law woman. B. It is possible for you to be responsible for her husband's death.

... and Isabela does not approve of Manhands Had to throw that in there.

Merrill is an elven mage and a temporary companion to the Dalish elf Warden during the Dalish Elf Origin and a companion and romance option for a male or female Hawke in Dragon Age II

I know who Merrill is I am just saying that Bioware really should have had order in this games Romances thats all I am saying.The thing is I just don't get Biowares thoughts on the Romances in DA2 I mean why make everyone Bi.

Well I hope that modders will unlock/add romance option for Avaline or atleast Bioware will make some expansion like Awakening in which that guard will die and we will be avaible to romance Avaline ^^

It is very strange indeed, the excuse why she isn't an LI was because shes still grieving for her dead husband, but that turns out not to be true because she can marry somebody else. Its like they were just playing a big practical joke on the Aveline fans, its really just mind-boggling why they would do something crazy like that. I agree that modders will likely eventually come up with something to improve it, but just the idea that they would actually write a 'non-romance' romance, where you romance a character and they end up with somebody else no matter what you do, that's an idea so uniquely insane that I'd give them points for originality if it wasnt so incredibly stupid .

The only thing I can think of as a possible defense, is that the final part of the 'romance' conversation that you get after the 'romance quest' thing, where after previously indicating your interest in her about eight or ten times and she completely ignores you, she suddenly asks you if you've ever thought about the possibility of you and her together, and you get three choices, one of which has the red broken-heart thingie that ends a romance with a character, and two which don't. That suggests that the romance was intended to continue from that point, if you wanted it to. So probably they either changed their minds at some point (possibly due to time constraints I suppose), or they always intended to make the romance completion a DLC thing, like with Morrigan's romance in Witch Hunt. I suppose we'll find out sooner or later, but as it is right now its pretty much just the worst 'romance' not only in Bioware history but in the history of gaming .

You know the problem is that Bioware probably won't make an Romance DLC For Hawke & Aveline because they already married her to that loser Donnic I believe that Bioware could have had a great Romance it could have been a Love Triangle Both Hawke and Donnic Vieing for Avelines Affections but instead they give us 2 female LI's and made everybody Bi and I would give them all up for a proper Hawke Aveline Romance Option.

Agree I dont think they will make seperate dlc for Aveline romance option but making addon/expansion for Dragon Age in which we could romance her is possible (unless someone will be to lazy  and will try to troll  players again .... )

That is tru but I just don't see them doing it they already married her of to Donnic and as much as I would love an addon to romance her it will really damage her character in my opinion because the only way it could work is if Donnic either dies or they get divorced and I just can't see Bioware doing that

Hmm I can (imgaine ) after trolling players with Avaline/Varrick and changing so many things in Dragon Age 2... I think they can kill Donnic ^___^

Aveline prefer stable normal "husband"...Hawke isn't.

Also, did you know there was rumors of Hawke sleeping with the Captain of the Guards?

Isn't that just sad If your Hawke try so hard to be nice, and hopefully to win her heart in the end. Nope, she's ignoring it and sometime there'll be negative feedback from her.

Frankly, I'm glad she wasn't a romance option. Helped to make her one of the best characters (well, out of your companions anyways) in the game. It's nice that there's someone who doesn't want to throw her legs up in the air and get it on with you at the drop of a hat.

Romances are so forced and unbelievable to begin with, so when a great character like Aveline isn't put through that monstrosity that is only included in these games out of some sort of closet perv fantasy is a good thing in my book.

Now, if romances were actually believable and an integral part of the actual game and not just tacked on to appease sexually starving individuals...well, I would change my opinion of course and demand Aveline also be a part of that rich story/gameplay. They aren't though, so let's just be glad she wasn't.

I must admit I did really like the snarky comparison Hawke can make to their potential romance and the Blight. Even if it does get rivalry points from Aveline, it amused me and was rather sweet in an odd way.

The lack of an Aveline romance was annoying. What Persuader said was absolutely true... you get pretty much no decent options if you aren't into elves, loose women, or guys. Go to the brothel? LMAO... you don't even get to see those NPCs in their underwear, and it costs 2 gold! No way in hell is that worth the money... Hell, I'd have preferred Hawke's elven servant to the options we're given...

The fact that you can just keep flirting with Aveline and she ignores you completely is just insulting. Why even include something like that? If Bioware no longer has interest in romances, then they need to just remove them from the game. Taunting fans is just wrong.

Honestly... Isabela is the only option? lol... yeah, not into women who give it up to 3+ people every night.
