Honestly... Isabela is the only option? lol... yeah, not into women who give it up to 3+ people every night.

...Or more :D
But to be honest Isabella is not so bad (but her love cutscene...good Lord who made that animations ? I saw animations made my amature moders that looks 10x better than this shaking/loop anim :D )
But still why to put romance/flirt options if players can't use them properly later :? Its almost like Gabe Newell trolling players with HL 2 EP 3 :P

So you can roleplay a heartbroken Hawke. I sure did. Although, I found it interesting that you get a "broken heart" dialog option, it have no purpose.

Well last romance/flirt dialogue have no bigger sense since there is no line with telling Avelina about feelings for her. and "broken heart " gives +15 to friend status (seriously wtf lol )

Aveline and Varric are probably the only ones I have in-game crushes on.

Aveline is strong (so is Isabela but she's a little too fun, she'd be a better bff or fwb) and pretty serious, not to mention adorable at times (without being saccharine sweet like Merrill, but I like her too just more like a sis).

Varric is suave and doesn't have any awful crisis that dramatically emo-sizes him or makes him turn against you. He's also a very good looking one. And his jokes make me laugh.

I hope Aveline and Varric would be the Garrus and Tali of DA3.

I personally enjoyed the whole "flirting with Aveline" part. There unfortunately are people as "blind" as her, and I definitively can see her not even considering Hawke that way. I did like the fact that we at least had the option to try to romance her, even if you aren't successful.

Plus, I found the "broken heart" option at the end to be pretty well done. You can hear Hawke's voice (at least female Hawke) breaking down slightly from trying to refrain from crying when telling Aveline to be happy, and the pained expression as she leaves. Sad, but well done.

And if you pick the 2nd option instead, Hawke gets kissed by Aveline and she has the most hilarious facial expression I've seen in the game by far. So personally, kudos for letting the players try to romance her.

Ok so WTF. there are 4 females in the game total. 1 is your sister so no romance there that would just be sick. and avaline isn't an option.... but they give u plenty of gay guys hitting on male hawke...... is this to make up for that BS with Mass Effect 1's love scene? now they have to just put a bunch of gay guys in the game. oh we get 2 females 1's a blood mage abomination and the other is a **** with more seamen on her shirt than on her boat. Biggest fail in the game IMHO.

Totally agree. Every guy you meet tries to start a relationship where females are like ice cubes. romance in this game is a big fail

She's immune to Hawke's flirts. It was so funny.

True but after seeing it I recalled scene from "House "

(He makes a move to kiss Cuddy but she pulls away)
Wilson: I've been more passionate with my great-aunt.
House: Mabel? (He holds his hand up for a high five)

My femHawke chose Isabela; she at least is relatively sane and consistent. But I'm not sure that's going anywhere, especially since Isabela is hard for me to keep from simply neutral based on the decisions I've been making. And that may be for the best.

All of the male companions I've seen so far seem too damaged to be credible, especially since Varric is not an option either. I take Anders when I need him, but you already know he's crazy. Fenris is also redundant to my Hawke, 2h warrior. Merrill is just simply not my Hawke's type. Too easy to injure.

Aveline is the closest thing my Hawke has to a kindred spirit in this run-through. She is grounded, mostly free from fanaticisms, and understands duty. Her freckles and jawline are adorable. And her romance quest is one of the best moments in the game, and helps soften her image a bit. (Be sure to bring Isabela along as well.)

Anders is the only male who hits on Hawke.

tip: dont' flirt with them and they won't flirt with you

It was very annoying but well if you let her go with donnic after the hooking her up and chose the broken heart you get a good amount of friendship points at least.

Avelline added a nice bit of humility to Hawke, she just didn't prefer him and had eyes for another fellow. It was a nice touch that you could try and fail.

I love Avaline =) she's one of my F!Hawkes very best friends. One of the best moments in the game is helping her with the romance. The pub-scene. Just wonderful. I'm happy to see her life continue forward. She's one of my favorite companions =)

you know they wont. Thats not the point of a patch and not the content they would plan for a DLC.

Yup, this was a good thing as we heros (DA, ME etc) are used to romancing just about anyone.  A nice change of pace to have a character basically say 'Not interested, I have eyes for another.'

A "lack" of an Aveline romance? BioWare making excuses for not making a companion romancable? You guys,,,

She's into someone else. It's not like it's hard to accept from within the game world. I wouldn't give up the Aveline friendship path for any romance.

I really liked that you couldn't romance Aveline. She was a solid, strong character and had eyes for another person. Nothing strange with that. Perfectly realistic, and a bit unique, with a major character that you cannot romance. A brilliant move on their part.

My problem is we need more of these types of characters to romance.  There's very few to none at all.  By the end of the first act during my first play through (so far) I wanted her as a love interest.  I was pursuing Isabella, but seeing someone who was grounded interested me greatly.  I knew that Aveline wasn't a romance option (which is why I looked elsewhere), but I thought it could have been a sly trick when I started seeing "heart" dialogues.

Process of my emotions towards the whole thing.
1) Awesome job Bioware!
2) Damn that stings.  Still awesome job!
3) Why don't we have more characters like Aveline that are romanceable?
4) Good job Bioware. P.S. I hate you.

I like that Aveline found another man that she could love. Donnic and her are well suited for each other. And, if you flirt and help her with her quest, she'll kiss you right on the lips. Got that this time around.
