I'm really incredibly stuck on the last quest, the part where your team is basically overwhelmed by shades and a rage demon. I die usually in the first couple seconds, even on casual. does anyone know if there are any certain ways to beat it?

I was playing on hard and what I did was manage my team. Like, for example, if one of your mages or ranged characters is getting wailed on, don't just let them stand there and take it, tell them to run in circles or do laps around the room while your warrior pulls threat off of them.
The shades I can see being a problem if you don't have heavy AoE damage. I wouldn't know how to deal with that, sorry. It would help if you told us what your party composition is.

I did this on nightmare difficulty I am going to assume you beat this by now but if you decide to go through the game again AOE spells wont get the job done so I will throw my two cents in anyway. You have to be sneaky the best way to do this assumeing you have the Pet dog is to hold position on your party and slowly inch your way toward the blood mage the minute she turns around to attack you summon the dog and select your party and run all the way back up the stairs If you do not have the dog then hopefully you will have a spirt mage in your party. Anyway a mass of shades will follow you up the stairs but not all of them, After you kill this pile you will be shocked because 2 more piles of shades come in on nightmare along with a pride demon to my knowledge there is no way to successfully beat this part of the game without doing this tactic on nightmare I tried rearrangeing my spells my attributes and kept reloading trying different tactics I got my ass kicked the end boss is easier. But anyway this tactic works for alot of areas But thats the idea to be tactical on nightmare I consider it a tactic.
