So, I want to get into modding. I have no real modding experience, and I don't have much programming experience.

I do however, want to have a career in the gaming industry and I plan to learn programming/take classes in the near future.

Seeing as there isn't a toolset for DA2 (I'm correct, am I not?) how do you mod Dragon Age 2?

Thank you in advance for your replies, am looking forward to it.

Depends on what you want to do. A good starting place is
this tool
http://social.biowar...ect/1936/#files
and these threads

Hey Zorph! I would start the modding with DA:O since there are already a bunch of threads detailing the specifics.
As far as programming learning basic syntax and functionality in C++, JAVA or python will help you out. If you want to start programming- C# is a fun way to start. apphub (used to be called XNA) was how I got started.

If you are a student microsoft's dreamspark provides great tools.
Once you are familiar with the basics you can begin modding with confidence. Of course you can ignore all of this and start experimenting with the DA:O modding if you would prefer. Have fun and hope it works out for you.

Start small. Learn how to do a tiny thing, like change the gold in your inventory, alter your character's skintone, etc. The more familiar you get with doing the little things, the easier the tougher things become.

Thanks for the advice! I'll look into some C# to start doing some basic things.

There's pretty much tutorials for any worthwhile thing right now on dragonagenexus.com forums. Do the tutorials and try to get creative yourself after that. I'm absolutely clueless about modding but I can follow a tutorial :)

Ugh. Wish I'd found this forum BEFORE I lost the DA:O CD... and now I find that Bioware "might" modify the DA:O modder (heh, irony...:D), but no promises, and not even possibly until AFTER all planned DA2DLC.

This not make me feel good. Make me want smash. Like Hulk. >:(

If you lost the DA:O cd just download the ea download manager, pop in your cd key, vada boom or whatever they say! Digitally enhanced :)
