I've read most of the reviews here in the forum and I know that there were some things left undeveloped by Bioware but I actually enjoyed the game. I was attached to my companions such as Bethany, Aveline and Sebastian. I really liked the story and most of the improvements made to the game.

I never played origins because I found it hard to play it in the console version but in DA 2 the combat was faster and it was simplified. It did not feel like a total loss to me that you could only be human but if there was a sequel I wouldn't have anything against having other races but hopefully Bioware makes them have equal opputunities to weave their own story but with extremely unique playthroughs for players (and not just some differences in dialogue).

I do hope that they make a sequel to DA 2 despite the negative feedback. Maybe they could keep the premise of DA 2 but improve on the technical stuff fans are crtical on.

Word of advice.

Its impossible to please everybody. What some people look kindly on and approve of, somebody else'll rag, and tear it apart.

It isn't bad. It is painfully average. 6/10

It's not a bad game at all from any other small studio is would be fine, but Bioware has a reputation for excellence and this game is not acceptable for a studio of their reputation.

I'm playing it and so far my mark is 7.5/10. awesome gameplay, nice story, cools character, good music and awesome voices... But lack of environments.

I also thought Mario RPG was the best RPG ever created until I got a PC.

It is mostly PC players who hate the game, as the majority of what you call improvements were made in order to make the game more playable on consoles then Origins was.... at the cost of cutting alot of stuff PC players enjoyed.

My criticisms have nothing to do with the changes and everything to do with small things:

* Still have issues targeting enemies sometimes, based on terrain or other randomness (happened in Origins also). Have the same issue targeting ground to tell my companions to move somewhere.

* Companions ignoring my orders. Anders is especially guilty of this. I told you to GROUP HEAL, dammit! Now I'm dead, you dick.

Aside from quibbles like that I think the game is fantastic, and arguably more tactics heavy than DA:O. I think a lot of the complaints are unfounded.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. From what I see some people love it, some hate it, and others are in the middle. But you should make your own decision on the game.

As for me, no. If not for some things it would be superior to DA:O.

Yes, it's a sham. Rush job with flat storyline, uninteresting characters and regurgitated areas. Worth $20? Sure. Worth $30? Maybe. Worth $60? NO.

Mario RPG is a very good J-RPG. while BioWare do USRPG. those two styles can't be compared. it's like saying ''**** Final Fantasy XII, KOTOR is better''... Doesn't make any sense since those games have nothing in comon.

The game would be 'ok' if it was just 'Dragon Action' or so. Not better than ok.

But to sell it as Dragon Age 2(!!!!!) is a shame!!! Like this, all who loved DA:O buyed it (like myself) just to discover: a rushed, loveless action-rpg, without all the fancy atmosphere that made DA:O so great.

Just see the empty city, the boring companions and the bad item system with this really non atmospheric icons, the repeating leveldesign, .... this list could go on a loooong time.

The worst part about the game is that 99.9% takes place in a drab city that looks the same in virtually every district, and interiors for homes and mansions are all recycled repeatedly.

Heh, FF12 wasn't the best choice for that comparison, given how the DA:O tactics system is such a rip off from it.

Like all forms of art its subjective. Even though "Dragon Age II" has bad elements, the game also has some good elements to appreciate. Its similar to how people like novels. Some people like action, and others like drama.

Everyone's tastes are different. After getting away from the negative board comments, I am slowly becoming a little hypocritical. Instead of being dead set against buying this game, I am now considering possibly buying it once an Ultimate Edition is released. It really depends upon how well the dlc fleshes out the game, and if they can bring back some of those 'Origins' aspects that I enjoyed. If BioWare doesn't impress me with the dlc, I will walk quietly away from the franchise.

Everything is now ridding on the quality and lure of the dlc.

My current rating for this game is 5/10.

So far (halfway through Act II maybe) it seems better than the first game, and vastly better than Mass Effect 2.

Depends entirely on what you consider bad. On its own merits it's a decent game, bit sloppy in recycling all those assets, but nothing to blow one's top over. Not worth the asking $60 though.

But judge it as the sequel it's marketed as? The criticisms are justified even if the level of rage is not.

Ignore what people are saying, because they're all just trolling and pissed this game isn't a duplicate of Origins. And if they would have taken Origins and just expanded the story, then people would have ****ed that this isn't a sequel, but instead it's "Dragon Age 1.5" and "Where's the real sequel?"

First thing, is you have to accept change. Dragon Age is still a new franchise, so change was inevitable.

To me, the combat is much more fluid. Rogues actually feel like rogues now, instead of just a debuff bot. They're really powerful support, and you actually feel like you're stalking your foes from the shadows now.

If I were to talk about everything they changed in Dragon Age 2, what I liked, and what I didn't like I'd be here for hours typing, and I really don't want to put that much time into a silly forum response, but I will just say this: If you liked the original and you're open to change, you'll love this one.

It's great. It's not Dragon Age Origins 2, so there are tears there. It's got less tedious old school RPG mechanics, so there are tears because of that. And there are repeated maps, so there are tears from that. In generals, it's a great game and a lot of fun. Just bring a rain coat to the forums.
