So I beat the game, killed Meredith and whatnot, and got Varric's little description of what happened afterward. All well and good. We all went to the hills and parted ways except for Hawke and Isabella.

That's what confuses me. My Hawke had Merrill as a LI. Isabella ran off and I never saw her again. Is this some kind of screw up, or is it setting up for DLC or something?

Mine said Anders, even though I killed him. I think it's a flag bug.

That's a screw up for sure. I've beaten the game twice, once with Anders and I together the other time with Merril and I together. Varric mentioned them, respectively.

Probably a bug, in my playthrough Anders was the one still with me. And I've heard others say Anders stayed with their Hawke ... even though they killed him. Maybe they had him stuffed or something.

I think you got a bugged ending. In mine I romanced Anders and thats who Varric mentioned not leaving my side (since I didn't kill him).

That's probably a screwup. I also had Merill as LI and he said to me "Except for Meril" at the end. So yeah, I'm guessing that's a screwup.

yeah that confused me as well, because i ended up with merrill but that still happened. (altho only difference isabela did come back)

that makes sense that it could be some dlc

Same thing happened to me, I feel like they were trying to set up game 3 and got pissed when I didn't hook up with the pirate, and punished me by retconing the game I was still playing as I played it.

Probably a screw up, I romanced Merrill and it said Merrill for me.

It's a glitch. Merrill never gets her due ATM. If you romanced her then it defaults Isabella because of the unhinging.

I think this is another bug. i too romanced Merril and got same ending. Annoying.

That's weird. Isabella was my LI so I thought it made sense.

If Mearrill was my LI, I'd be like

"Why does everything I love leave me..."

What with this and Leliana's nonchalant "Oh yeah, I declared my undying love for The Hero of Fereldin a few times, but that was a long time ago"

Its a confirmed glitch by the developers that if you sleep with Isabela first...regardless of other choices you make after...(i.e. breaking it off with her and starting something up with someone else or even her leaving and not returning) you will always get the Isabela epilogue line. Seems like her flag overwrites everything after...or at least the game reads that flag over everything else atm. They said they are working on it.

My BoyHawke had an affair with Merril and broke it off (also had 100% rival). And Varric said she stayed with him. I dunno, maybe she did. Merril's like that.

I just got this as well, Varric said everyone left me but Isabella when I had finished game with Isabella. Very annoying,

Ah. I suspected this was the reason for it. Mystery solved.
