Hello, I've been playing Dragon Age II for the PC.  So far, awesome effort, great game.  However, it seems I've run into a glitch.  I am playing a female mage character, and it seems whenever combat is initialized, her combat in regards to attacking and casting spells is slow.  But her combat movement is not affected, neither is normal walking and running.  I loaded a previously saved game to see if this was just a setting problem, but it appears in earlier saved games (at least as far as the Chapter One Deep Roads Expedition) my character was attacking and casting spells at normal speed.

Has anyone encountered this particular type of combat "slow" bug on the PC or other gaming platforms?   I'm still playing, but it's getting annoying when I keep waiting for my character to just recover from a simple frost spell.

me too! its really annoying because enemies attack my hawke at normal speed and she's more likely to get killed or hurt and her attacks almost always get interrupted! I really hate playing it like this.. (female rogue for PC here)

Okay, I downloaded the high res texture patch along with the 1.01 patch. So far, the game seems to be running a lot smoother now. I think the bug ocurred originally when I was in combat against the big demon boss in the Deep Roads in Chapter One. I went back and loaded an earlier saved game before this and haven't had problems since. I don't know if that's when the bug happened, but it started behaving erratically not long after that. I hope Bioware comes out with another patch soon though, I've noticed the quest "Who Needs rescuing?" in Chapter three is bugged or broken, along a few other still irritable glitches.

Same thing just started for me - I'm in act 3 right now (PC male mage). The game is close to unplayable right now. I hope someone will come up with a solution for this problem soon.

I have same problem: Hawke attacks and casts spell slowler and slowler. At begin of the game his activating sustained abilities animation was take 5 seconds at all. Now it 13 seconds! I've checked previos saves and found that speed diminished gradually: 5/7/10/13 seconds to activate sustained spell.

I think it happens because Isabella's friedship passive skill: every time you save game your attack speed (i.e. attack and spell-casting speed) reduce by 5% that Isabella should give to you. This skill shows even Isobella not in party. Bug in this way I think. Does somebody know how to fix it? May be there is the cheat or console command to reset Hawks attack speed. Patch is needed or game going be unplayable!

So, far, the bug hasn't come back for me since I loaded an earlier save (crossing my fingers), but I lost quite a bit of progress sadly. :( This seems to be an ongoing issue with other players though. Bioware, any comment on this issue?

The issue is discussed at length here http://social.biowar...5/index/6646855 and here http://social.biowar...index/6490404/1 . So far all I have been able to find from Bioware is 'we are aware of the problem' which is a bit lame since this is a game breaking bug.

Personally I have stopped playing until they release a patch to deal with the problem.

Thanks for the update Manspoon, much appreciated. I hope they can get this bug worked out with another patch "soon". I think this same bug is starting to creep back on me again, it's getting frustrating.
