The Fade: Barrels, bug or no bug?

I found an entry in another forum, saying, that this is a bug. Whenever something occures, like a popup (steam client in this case), the riddle becomes bugged and is unsolvable.
In my case, there was no popup, there were these fights.
Question:
1) Is it meant by the devs that these riddles must be solved before the fights start? If so, then this is beyond my abilities.
2) If it is a bug - the fight destroys the riddle - has someone found a workaround?
As always my apologies, if this topic was discussed before. Search-option is not available for me atm.

This means, I am the only person between five and eightyfive who is too slow for this and anyone else could solve it without the slightest problem, right?

Would be interested to know what they were supposed to do . . .or how they were supposed to be solved.

This would not be a problem at all, but - as I wrote - the fight starts and after it is finished, the barrels are unusuable.
Can't be right, IMO.

Comes down to how efficiently they're done, I believe.

I clicked on a barrel assuming I could loot it, noticed that there was a group of barrels I could move around, and then got attacked by a demon. Apparently demons are very touchy about people messing with their carefully stacked barrels.

It's possible to do it without the fight starting. I remember having some difficulties with them when I was playing through the game after we were content locked, but eventually I was able to do it.

I managed to do this on my first try!
I have no idea how ....

My problem with the barrel quest is that there's no clue as to what you need to do.

Yes they're kinda like that...

xD
I was exactly the same way. I just kind of messed around with them wondering what I was supposed to do and thinking that I'd figure it out eventually.
Then the fight triggered and I just shrugged, took the extra exp and moved on...

basically for the one with the normal barrels and tiny barrels you just need to get all the normal barrels together on the floor with the little barrels on top.
For the 2nd one with the 4 red barrels you just need to get all 4 together in the centre, stacked like the spare ones on the wall next to it, the other barrels are irrelevant, only there to make moving the red ones harder.

I searched for this tome in my inventory and found it finally in "junk". I could not use the option "unjunk", nor could I destroy it.
So, what's up with this book?

Come on, you all got this book. Has someone found another purpose than dumping it at the shop?

Sure, there will always be the weak-minded who simply play following some guidebook, but they don't count. For people who enjoy playing games, please design achievements around actually being able to accomplish something beyond the scope of simply playing.
