I, like pretty much everyone else, signed up for the newsletter to get free DA2 DLC content. Did anyone keep it? I got an email from EA (because I signed up for the newsletter) saying that all Battlefield games are 40% off this weekend.
So...the first major weekend to sell Dragon Age 2, a game recently changed to appeal to the fps/console crowd, and the parent company puts one of its most popular fps franchises on a major sale?
My conspiracy theory is that EA wants Dragon Age to sell poorly so they can justify dropping RPG franchises from its roster. They feel that RPG's don't make enough back for the extensive amount of extra time it takes in development and want to convince Bioware that it's not worth the investment. They want them to concentrate more on titles they can market to their 'regular' audience that maintain the usual Bioware level of quantity.
I think I'm insane. But it makes so much sense!
EA sabotaging Dragon Age 2 sales? *tinfoil hat*
