Um...Fox News?  Did you completely miss when they claimed several times on the air that Mass Effect was, literally,  interactive pornography?  Then when they were corrected by a rep from the publisher they refused to air the correction, but rather invited the publisher to send someone to appear on the show to be browbeaten by some alarmist "journalist?" 



Also, Fox News isn't conservative?  They're the (practically official) mouthpiece of the Neo-Conservative movement.  I thought this was common knowledge.

While I agree that CC was being deliberately negative about it, I will say that one can see all of the nudity one wishes on the internet. Do I think that the underwear is a bit silly? Sure. To me, though, it is like when, in a movie, either a stripper is wearing lingerie or a woman sits up in bed and keeps a sheet over her chest even though she clearly has nothing to hide from her partner: it does not actually impact their dialogue or the story and it just is not worth the fuss that some make over it.

I'll download the first nude mod that also improves everybody's skin and body shape. Until then, I can live without seeing the the witch of the wild's celulite.

How about it's absolutely ridiculous when you have them in grind/bump mode, thrusting, and kama sutra positions (and ACTUALLY HAVE A PORNOGRAPHY CAMERA ANGLE SHOWING UNDER THE BELT WHILE THEY THRUST/GRIND, except of course it's just underwear) and then you decide to slap on this granny-underwear.

And AGAIN telling people to "go watch porn you pervert."

It's not my fault this game is "A tale of LUST, betrayal, and murder" and that Bioware wasn't gonna "pull any punches."  I'm not the one that decided to make laughably bad romance scenes.  I'm not the one that asked for this game to have an exorbitant amount of sex.

I wanted something tasteful that built upon the culmination of the romantic development, not this crap.

The mock-up of those scenes make them so much more unnatural and unbelievable while DA:O is a game that tries to hard to create an immersive, believable world with natural characters that come across believable and immersive. That is a huge contradiction there.



Just to say something else, the first time I saw my party nearly naked was during the final part of the Urn of Ashes quest where they had to go naked to get past a certain area. Mind you, there was nothing sexual about that scene. But low and behold. I saw those big woolen low-detail granny undies on them and I spontaneously burst out in laughter, completely destroying the immersion of the quest. I mean, come on now. My character's croch looked like he gobbled down a whole flask of friggin' Viagra in one go, so disproportionate the waist area of the characters were modelled.

I think what people are objecting to is the fact that it is an obvious cop-out job done pretty badly. Must be an American thing, are your ratings different over there ? I think Oblivion gave a good showing on the mentality of the ESRB. Originally the game comes out and is given a rating T, a few months later a certain texture is discovered in the files which forces them to go back and review it again and all of a sudden it turns to an M rating game.

It's not that Americans shy away from sex and nudity, it's actually the opposite minus certain areas of the country. Billboards, ad's, commercials, most movies seem like they always have a sex scene for the hell of it, TV shows are slowly getting more adventrious and revealing. Really it's just video games that get hit with the prude stick here, and I think it's because they are still considered "childish in origins and use" despite the fact that 20-30 year olds make up the largets population of gamers so they cater the rating system in that direction. I find it a bit odd that they view it as ok to take a chainsaw and hack a woman to pieces so long as her ****** don't flash in the process.

Frankly I always imagined that the clothes came off after the screen went black...but I'll probably get a decent nude mod that improves the bodies when it comes out. Just like it did in Morrowind. It's just..better looking :\\ like improving the graphics. It should happen for both sexes too, but frankly in this game it seems like the women got less attention physcially - except for morrigan >.>.

If you're that desperate I'm sure there's thousands of CG Porn or even real porn for you. I'm a bit biased here since I find all forms of pornography disgusting and offensive but I can honestly say in this situation that there is no need for this. There's enough sexual content to keep the game realistic, don't add any unneccesary so called 'improvements'.

The game's love scenes are far from a pornographic context.
