I can`t see this going anywhere. Only choice is MAKE your own fantasy stories, art, novels and have all the nudity/sex you want in it. As long as you`re over-18 you`ll be fine.

And you can have sex\\nudity and keep it tasteful and as meaningful or not, as you wish... Just like real life.

It`s what i do. I even sell the stuff.

Um...really?  Integrity is choosing a set of values and sticking to them.  Integrity is being true to one's self and to others.  Integrity does not mean, "having conservative and/or Christian values."  Integrity does not mean, "thinking that sex is bad and dirty and that the human body is evil and must remain hidden."  A person living by a different set of values than you do does not mean they lack integrity.  It only means that they don't share your value system, which is 100% fine.

I'm not arguing for or against adding nudity to DA.  I honestly couldn't care less if it's there or not.  I personally am a very honest and moral person, and I don't believe that sex or nudity are bad or dirty things that must be hidden.  In fact, I think that raising children to see sex and nudity as evil and forbidden is more damaging than raising them to see sex and nudity as something natural and nice, but also something that we need to take responsibility for as adults.  Hiding and making people feel guilty about something that is a natural compulsion of our species is one of the things that cultivates mental illness and sexual disfunction.   I think that desensitizing children to violence is much more dangerous than sex and nudity could ever be.

That said, Dragon Age is not a game for children.

That said, sex is only a very small part of the game, so I don't see why it matters if the underwear is there or not.  If Bioware chose to put it in I'd be fine with it, but the fact that it's not there doesn't bother me in the slightest.  In fact, if it weren't for this thread I probably wouldn't have even thought about it.

This game is about realistic fight (blood on armor and weapons), realistic character (romance, feelings...). But the sex scene are not really what i expected. I also more enjoyed the mass effect cut scene. I mean, i don't want crude porno, in mass effect it was cool, it was beautiful.

Anyway, this game is for adult. If you buy it for a child, you FAIL as parent. If the store sell it to a child, they failed. It's not something i really want, finally i doesn't care a lot, but we don't need to pay for the failure of others.

By integrity you must mean a convoluted set of principles brought about by a puritanical mind-set that shuns the human body, making you believe that sexuality and the naked form are evil and disgusting.

Combined with a desensitization to violence that thinks it's alright for games to have gratuitous amounts of graphic violence and gore, even though a bare nipple would cause him to feel uncomfortable.

That's some good integrity you got there.

As funny as this entire conversation is that we are all having here; it just goes to show that there is a market for having more adult content in games. I can't say that I would be happy if there was a ton of it everywhere but eventually I'm sure games will start having more and more adult content as each pushes the limit a little more.

What I personally feel bad about is that the kinds of games that will push this stuff will likely be games that I couldn't give a crap about. I love this game and it has done a great job of reminding me of Icewind Dale and Baldurs Gate. I already want to go back and play them again. (and now with the nice resolution hacks there are for these games it will really be a new experience)

I really do hope that eventually a good company like Bioware does start making more of these RTS games with an even wider range of themes that push the person experiencing the game like any good movie or book would do. I don't really have a good example of this except for maybe Dark Messiah - not like it was a game with a million options and tons of story but it was a game that tempted me to make decisions that Dragon Age has hardly done for me. I do hope that some Dev reads my post because what I'm saying is that I'm almost through the entire game and it was too easy to be the good guy.

My post has certainly strayed a little but I believe it is still on topic. It would be great for the game's experience to cover much more "themes" as I can't think of a better word. Whether those themes are sexual, life changing, violent, shocking, ect.

I keep thinking how they could have done it  ... No need to show ****** or ass .. But don't show either the underwear.It's just feel strange to see moriggan orgasm with her bra and panties on.

ANGLE ANGLE!! Movie have done it for YEARS.
An erotic/love scene in a dark fantasy rpg what wrong with that?

Yet .. you walk around decapiting ppl and making evil deed(if you decide so) with 10 liter of blood all over you .. But showing some ****** .. here and there it's too much?

Seriously this society 's ****ed up and if ppl were more open minded ... maybe woman would be less sexualized and raped and horrible stuff like that would happens less often.

Show them what love should be... Noo .. they prefeer leaving those 1 billion of porn site open that you can watch with 1-2 click with your mouse.

That just retarded.

Frigging old fart... THey should slack viagra .. frigging hypocrite.

I would have thought respect would have been earned from making this game in the first place. But just as you think respect is earned, remember that such a thing is a two-way street. Spitting in their faces isn't going to elicit extra respect from the developers either.

He didn't make the game. He's a community moderator and script proofreader. He's QA. Not game development. Plus, he chose to spit in our faces and insult us and you expect our response to be respectful?

Two way street? You have a loose definition of two-way street.

Could it, perchance be related to the fact that Stanley Woo had nothing to do with the latter?

But I digress, getting to reasoning with you is just going to prove insufferable.

Oh I see. He makes the game but doesn't make the game. When it helps your argument, he is a godlike game developer and we should kiss the ground he walks on. But he isn't at all involved whatsoever if it doesn't help your argument.

No wonder you would find reasoning with me insufferable. You don't know the very meaning of the word.

People buy rated R DVD's with love scenes that show partial nudity all the time without any debate. Why the big discussion having it in something like Dragon Age. Both are rated 17+

i also think it was wierd that in the sex scene there doing it right in the middle of the camp for everyone to see. even the dialogue said that it was in a tent but it shows it out in the middle of the camp.

No it's just that Morrigan doesn't know how to make a tent for s***.

This topic has been beaten to death, and sidelined by silliness.

It's not a big deal for me...I was mildly confused at the step backwards from ME, that is all. I'd rather not have had a scene at all then one that looks like it's been forcibly censored in an attempt to soften the content.

I just thought it played out awkward, unlike the kiss scenes that were very well done, and the post-sex Leliana chat where she is crouching beside you which was also very well implemented.

Eventually someone will make a fan mod, then those people who feel jipped can have their eye-cake.

I do disagree with one thing Stanley Woo said about DA not being a movie...a cutscene IS a movie, and so it needs to keep immersion. Having the non sequitir underwear (especially for Morrigan) was as odd and distracting as if they'd decided to remove all the characters armour but left on the helmet or guantlets.

Sorry if this has been said before, there are 16 pages and I won't even try to read it all... But does it bother anyone that Morigan has no bra at all while walking in public (70% of it is visible on the sides), but she puts one on in the sex scenes?

It doesn't get much more adult than that.

Just thought this needed to be reposted as it is the the most intelligent post in the topic, and in my opinion is the last word on the subject.

The discussion here is mostly about how silly the sex scenes look, partially due to the underwear, partially due to what the characters are doing during the scene.  Mass Effect has been brought up as an example of a sex scene that didn't have full frontal nudity, but still worked well.  Jade Empire's fade to black has also been brought up as a suggestion.

The films that have partial nudity usually use the Mass Effect style of scene, with blankets, props, camera angles and shadows used to keep that partial nudity rating.  They don't usually have two people going at it full on, uncovered, out in the open, while still in their underwear.

Exactly.
That's what has been constantly said since the beginning, and still half the thread and all the developper's answers
seems to boil down to "OMG you want porn in game you're so immature !".

Guess some people just don't want to see the point.

I don't think any of us are actually expecting a patch from Bioware, too much effort for such a little and trival thing. It's simply a discussion about a scene in the game most of us thought could have been done much better one way or another, you know in the general discussion forum for a game. It's no different then the Bad Graphics thread or one of the dozen threads about how bad Warden's Keep is. It's an expressing of an opinion even though in the end we know it'll accomplish nothing. There has been some good quality discussions in this thread amidst the ignorant and childish "ZOMG B008IES", "Stanley Woo sucks" and "perverets" posts. Will it accomplish anything, most likely no, neither will 98% of the discussions in this forum. What's the point of a forum if we cannot discuss?

lol I remember when I opened same topic before game was released it was closed as spam :)

Personally I would not care about this, but there is a tiny-miny problem: 18 year grade do elliminate underaged (as if I care about them) but I do not like playing a game deep at night so that kids will sleap at that time. (blood and such is very little in comparison to mordern TV... especialy news reports).

I think we should remember that there is X button on XBxo to skip cutsceen.

So from one point its all fine, from another point its ill done.

As a software developer I can say that such "bleeper" is easy to make:

if (boxChecked)

{

//do nothing

}

else

{

//run the clip

}
