Well since you're so much cooler than everyone else, what are you doing here in the first place? I mean it does take a big and confident man to insult random strangers on the internet. Surely you're every bit as brave and eloquent in real life as well. Shouldn't you instead be out with all the gorgeous women that you have fawning all over you no doubt?

Seriously, I don't know what is more conflicting -
the self-hating nerd
the person who thinks a topic is silly and pointless but not only reads said topic but chooses to take the time to comment more than once on said topic he finds the people commenting on to be "very, very sad"
the person who thinks his opinion is important enough to state and defend while simultaneously belittling others for "taking (themselves) and (their) opinions way(,) way (too) seriously."

Honestly -
if the topic is beneath you, don't read it nor respond to it.
And stop the hypocritical practice of criticizing others for doing what you, yourself, are engaged in via that very criticism.

Sad in what way? That most of the people in the thread happen to be more intelligent than you could hope to become? Sad that you needed a dictionary to read through the last few pages? Sad that you lead so pathetic a life that you hope to feel better fistpounding your keyboard on the internet?

After all, no one made you run through a 20+ page thread with a clear title indicating subject matter.

I'im disappointed that the mod community hasn't done it yet. The Witcher community had the nude patch out like 10 minutes after it's release. Community is certainly slacking here. Although it was just replacing files it's the principle.

Though Nexus reveals quite a few nude patches, but they are all of rather low quality.

Some kid was working on it, but the thread got taken down. 

It didn't take long because a flame war started hella fast (which I may or may not have had a hand in).

I personally believe that this game is done tastefully, and don't think that nudity would add to it in any way. In fact, I feel that nudity would cheapen DA. Not necessarily my opinion on other games, though. Regardless, different strokes for different folks. As long as it's a mod and doesn't affect my game, I've nothing to complain about.

The only thing that bugs me about nudity mods is that often times it's only the women altered, then the guy who made the mod claims that it is done for the sake of art. I wouldn't go as far as saying I want one in my face, but if you're gonna make the game show nudity, it should be gender wide.

That is what makes me eyerolly about the nudity 'issue.'  You will notice that women that are encouraging/accepting of nudity in games and mods will encourage it for both genders.  Whereas many men that run into threads like these, throwing around their justifications and intellect for having nudity, will usually be coming from a place that boils down to 'I want to see nude chicks' instead of gender-wide inclusion.  I find it bemusing. 

Anyway, I will again say what I always say:  I advocate hypersexualization in our video games and in mods, so long as it is done equally for both genders.  If not, then I advocate having no nudity and sexualization in any of it.

I actually took a look at the nude patch/mod.

Just one look at the screenshots will tell you it's not worht the bother of downloading it. The underware is modeled..it's not a texture, so re-texturing looks iffin strange. Like wearing a skin-colored bra with nipples drawn on it.



I'm far more interested in various balance and tweak mods. Like no autoleveling..

Yep that one is horrible. Also the naked robe for morrigan is awefull, cause I don't have to see her ****** all the time. But I read that someone was working on a proper one (something about mesh altering). Was wondering how far along he got......

And on the equality thing, anything can be show for all I care, but its Morrigans bra-thing that annoys me the most and all the men are already bare chested. So for it to be equal, the bra has to come of. And ofc I like the discussion about it and am interested if modders even manage to pull it off (in a good, non freaky way).

This sort of argument would invariably lead to the male population running away screaming when they realised that putting nudity of any significance in the game may also include male nudity.

What most males seem to either ignore or just not realise is that the only nudity of any significance that is shown in the media (TV shows, films, and games) is female nudity. I suspect that most males would change their view if male nudity was introduced.

Note that this is referring to nudity of significance. A bare male chest is not significant in this regard.

I'm not going to trawl through the remaining pages of the thread as I really doubt I'd find anything of value in there. I'm sure there are a few 'interesting' or 'of value' posts but the general male reaction to female nudity and male nudity is typically hypocritical and ignorant, so I'll leave the thread trawling to someone else...

Cultures really do vary a lot. I saw the "Watchmen" movie with a bunch of American game developer geeks and talking to them afterwards most of them just couldn't get over the ********SPOILER ALERT******** giant blue dick factor. Such a shame.

I actually found that to be a refreshing change of pace. Done in a way where it makes it no big deal, which it isn't and shouldn't be.
