Homosexuality offends some people. Why should their opinion be valued less as long as they are well-mannered?

Despite the claims I am tolerant. I know homosexuals and treat them as I would anybody else. I've worked with, gamed with, and had a good time with homosexuals. Yet personally I find it objectionable and would rather not deal with it in an entertainment product. I don't think it is a sound business move and I feel it the development time could be used better elsewhere, but regardlesss Bioware has provided gay LIs in the DA series. You've gotten your option, why won't you let others have theirs? I don't get hit on by men in real life, why should I get get hit on in a game?

Ya gotta please the queers in everything today- or they ****, boycott, or threaten to burn your Church. I don't like WHAT queers do- but hell- it's been what- 2 decades since it is 'okay to be Gay'? We are a long way off from playing 'smear the queer' in gym class in Junior High. Back then, if you LOOKED gay, you got the shyt beat out of you. Was there a gay couple in "Woodstock"?

Point being...it IS accepted by most of society now and so to have a toggle for ANY unusual sexual preference is ridiculous. What about a switch to make all game characters black or white? hey...i didn't SEE A SINGLE BLACK in DA:2! OMG...RACISTS! You see? It's like Mom used to say- if you don't like it- turn it OFF. I loved Isabella...she was smoking hott and damn i never play a femme character...but to imagine two ladies rubbing thighs- oh yeah...i think i will play a GIRL!!! MY MOM will die. She's 80 and so old school.
Oh, and where's the NUDITY? If God of War on the PS2 showed naked women...why can't we have nekkid women in DA?

This is true, and I agree. Certain things are simply ignorant. What angers me and that was more of a warning, is that whenever a heterosexual shows displeasure for anything gay, they are instantly targeted and called and treated as hateful spiteful beings which they may or maynot be. I myself prefer females in general but I have occassionally enjoyed romancing Ander's and Fenris in game which has made me question time and again my sexuality. Which is why I take such a strong view at this. Its just a game, and maybe having a game with certain options like this can make people become more open in their sexual prefrences.

To the heterosexual crowd, try and be more open minded, as was stated by many its an option. It need not be undertaken if not desired. This does not mean you should make others feel insulted with the way you behave in the forums. What you post online is always viewable and undeletable so make sure you do the smart thing.

Are you so sure about that?  By what "majority" I'm guessing it isn't quite the large majority as you think it is.

Minorities shouldn't be excluded. But they're just that. Minorities. The majority of the "real life" population is hetero. By your own admission, RPGs should mimic real life, in which case, most of the characters should be hetero. Not bisexual, and not homosexual, who, combined make up a tiny fraction of the total population. So reflected in game, should make up a tiny fraction of the characters.

Actually - put people in the right circumstance- and most are bisexual. 

And gays/lesbians/bisxuals and women shouldn't be excluded - because they are "just that" also.

That being said I have no issue with limiting sexuality options as was done in DAO.  In fact I wasn't aware that this wasn't the case in DA2.

But that isn't quite the same as turning off all homosexuality options now, is it?

When you die in real life, there is not a load last saved game option. Why should you have one in a game?

You're a straight male or female in the real world. In the real world a gay or bi male or gay or bi female depending on your birth gender comes up to you and hits on you. Do you say "Oh my god I want this taken out of reality and all gays and bisexuals to be destroyed because I was hit on?" No you don't. Why? Because it's not possible. What do you do instead in real life, you normally say to them and usually politely "Sorry but I'm not interested. I'm straight and like people of the opposite gender." If you aren't polite you usually say to someone "Get the f**k out of my face you ******!" and that usually ends them talking to you and them hitting on you.

The fact is, homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenders are apart of our lives no matter what you want. Video game developers are starting to include that into many of their games. Like the ability to choose your gender in games. It's taken years for them to do it and a lot of games still don't have the ability to romance someone of your own gender or to even pick your own gender if you want.

Point in fact, Japanese games still don't allow you to choose your own gender in their RPG's. Many of their games don't have any references to homosexuality or bisexuality. I've come across maybe 2 games in my time playing JRPG's that have homosexuality in them and those characters are usually party members who are the homosexuals, not the main protagonist. Those two games are Enchanted Arms where one of the male characters was gay and the other was Persona 4 where one of the party members was gay and was also male. In Final Fantasy XIII it's alluded to that Fang and Vanille are lesbian lovers but nothing solid is confirmed in the game at all.

If you don't want the gay option in games then quit playing bioware games and go play something else. Stop trying to ruin everyone else's fun with your homophobic views. It's not wanted.

I do believe your reading comprehension is lacking - I did state why I felt no such option was necessary. IMO it is a waste of resources and time,  also, as evidenced by your commentary-  doing so only leads to more people feeling that their agendas "deserve" attention.

The devs made a choice that was inclusive of all sexualities, specifically because people playing games- are of different genders and sexual orientations.

Don't like it?  I'll offer my same solution - stick with Gears of War.

You speak as if you're entitled to gay LI options. You aren't. I'm not entitled to romance options either, but in that case Bioware should remove them from the game altogether.

What does "supporting diversity" mean? Does that mean this game need somebody of every gender and every race and every sexuality? Your condescending attitude is frusterating and I kindly ask you cease with it.

Seriously? We're at this again? Romances are optional content. O-P-T-I-O-N-A-L. The word means not mandatory. Which means you DON'T have to pursue it if it doesn't interest you. Therefore toggle is stupid and pointless.

Indeed, I for one hate graphics, yet every game has a graphics toggle so I can turn em off.  And I always do turn of the graphics, because graphics sicken me.

What gives?
