If the PC respecs using said potion, upon entering combat at the next opportunity the game seems to restore any spells or specializations that may be stored in the tactics screen from the previous character spec. e.g. I was previously blood mage, respec'd with potion to creation, elemental and spirit healer; entered combat, switched to NPC and noticed when I retook control of PC that blood magic was suddenly active. I went to abilities screen and saw that most of my blood magic spells had been restored per my setup on the tactics screen which had not been altered since my respec.  I respec'd again and had surplus specialization points (3 in total) and 28 ability points.  Not sure how many ability points I should have had at this point as I have used various store bought items and fade puzzles to increase them outside of a level up.  Pretty sure that I should only have 2 specializtion points though.

Let me know if anyone needs more info.

cheers.

I used the Maker's Sigh to respec so Aveline could use the Bann's Backhouse Door shield, and her new sword disappeared when I closed out of inventory and opened it up again. From the other posts on the Maker's Sigh being bugged, I can only hope for a patch at some point.

I did some searching but having found this reported about Maker's Sigh yet (apologies if I am wrong!). I had Varric use Maker's Sigh at level 8 (he had the Kickback skill), and when I went back to re-allocate his point, he couldn't take Kickback anymore - because he was level 7!

Has anybody else noticed either an XP loss, or a level loss with Maker's Sigh?

I didn't notice an XP loss (I wasn't paying that close of attention) but when a character who had had all the templar talents, when I used Maker's Sigh, his magic resistance dropped to something like NEGATIVE 48%. Once he got the Annulment talent back, his magic resistance came up only to 2%.

Actually, looking back over my savegames, it looks like Annulment never gave him any magic resistance boost at all. It was 2% before he took the talent and 2% after he took it. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, however, since I'm using a mod that reorganizes the skill trees a bit, and it may be due to the mod rather than the game.
