Ok I played the game for sometime now and I think I am around the middle of it, I love the new mages moves and such but why  Ipriamerly chose the mage was the finishing moves and such which was ripping the oger in half for example (I heard that you had to use the crushing prison) but I never manage to rip someone in half with it. I know about stagger and such and would use a spell which would make it more effective but thats not the finishing move that I am looking for

apart from that what are the other finishing moves anyway for the mage and the different class's because up to this point I haven't seen one of my warriors jump an ogre and DAO style kill it in slow motion so  Iwant to know If I am doing something wrong or is it the game that is like ths?

thx in advance

The devs stated some time ago that they removed finishing moves completely -- because apparently it didn't flow well with the new combat pace.

That's kind of silly given how poorly flow is interrupted by other stuff.

I'm looking at you, uninterruptible staff "flourishes" during auto attack, and disproportionate cast times for AoE and Blood Slave.

Yeah, all those mongrel bandits will have to keep their arms attached to their shoulders.

Well that sure is disappointing. I was wondering why I seemed to remember on my first try my mage actually did rip the ogre, but I never saw it since. Considering as said, the combat flow and microing is unreliable as it is because of the aforementioned staff attacks, Varric's "immagetstuckhereandshootandidon'tcareifyoutellmetomove" thingie, and random AI override glitches already. At least with a finished you KNOW when it's coming.
