What bothers me more is that end-video is a pre-rendered cinematic. And there Leliana mentions that Warden is missing. Where's my happily-ever-after, Bioware?

You've got to buy Dragon Age III for that. :P

I believe there is a 'canon' version of the game. Certain things that happen in any game are ignored if it does not jive with the 'canon' version.

IE -

1) Leliana will always be alive.
2) Anders will always be alive.
3) Justice will always survive the battle so that he can bond with Anders later.

I think this whole mess has something to do with certain flags (choices) reseting while importing to witch hunt

Here's what I note, generally. Aside from the mess Witch Hunt v1.0 gives us, a trend among people with in-game discrepancies is that they did DLCs after the Post-Epilogue save is made in DAO.

I guess if you import the Post-Epilogue Save and not a Auto/Quick-Save, the game should work fine.

Only a hypothesis, I really don't know for sure.

Well, there has to be a canon, I think. 'Cause my Champion is gone, just like the Warden. Lol, Leliana? You were there, when she died/sacrificed herself for all of you. Stop talking rubbish, girl!
Sooo..they plan something...want DA III NOW =)

This. While obviously there are still variations (depending on your character's LI choice, certain endgame choices, etc), there's a certain point where they just can't include every single tiny story variation possibility. They have to come up with at least a vague canon, while still allowing the player's choices to be reflected. If they included every single possible variation, things would just get ridiculous.

And it's fairly easy to explain away, since in-game "killing" an opponent sometimes just = defeating them rather than killing them all the way dead (Loghain for example).

It's almost like all of this was planned out.

Ok, one of these days i really need to buy awakening and all that other DLC, replay DA2, and do this thing right ! will probably end up making all the same choices though so it will integrate nicely in DA3 or the DA2 expansion (whenever that is )

leliana also says, the warden has disappeared if they sacrificed themselves? that's really weird... as if the warden's body has vanished from its grave...

A lot of these continuity issues (save Anders) are all answered by Awakenings.

If your warden died at the end of Origins, they were replaced by an Orleasian Warden who goes on to fight the mother, etc and be the surviving legendary warden.

No matter how you beat Awakenings, your Warden - be they the Hero of Fereldan or the Orleasian, no matter who they are in love with, no matter how Origins ended - vanishes. Usually with some variation on "their tale is not yet finished."

Oh, I forgot that. I never saw the Orlesian Warden as "my" Warden. It was always my Amell, and as Hawke's cousin she was mentioned often enough to make me forget the Warden-Commander =/
Because the Warden-Commander is no hero, I think. Amell saved Ferelden from the Blight, and this is what they are talking about most of the time, no one mentions the Broodmother....

There, explained.

What about a Lazarus Zevran?? Bugs in the game I guess *sigh*

Just because you didn't pick her up in Lothering doesn't mean she died there. Obviously some people escaped. Its her dying anywhere else that things stop adding up.

From what I can gather, the game assumes the Hero of Ferelden goes on to become the Warden Commander unless they made the ultimate sacrifice.

Actually Anders CAN die - if you let him die in Awakening and bring him with you to the deep roads Nathaniel will comment on his "death". Anders replies that the mage they found dead wasn't him but he used his body as a decoy so he could escape, or something like that.

Have a link, this is what happens.

Perhaps they will add a similar conversation for Leliana, like she was found injured and rescued or something similar.

Probably similar for Leliana. If you left her in Lothering, she fled the dark spawn. If you killed her during the sacred ashes quest, it's generally a bad idea to kill someone on Andraste's hallowed ground, if you want them to stay dead!

As for Zevran coming back, he's a rogue.  He feigned death.  Kind of lame, though.  I would have preferred if that part of the quest was skipped altogether if Zevran was dead, since it appears to be an optional quest.  Maybe it is a bug.

Word? Nothing else is different about the dialogue?

It's glitched. Some have it, but apparently there's a problem with Witch Hunt.

I would go with - A wizard did it.

Sorry, but even the curative powers of the ashes shouldnt be able to cure a SEVERED HEAD lol.  When my warden killed her in the chamber, the decapitation DB triggered and I even chuckled about it because I thought of how ironic it was that one of the few times I execute a DB, it was on one of my own companions.  So if the ashes can cure a severed head, I want a piece of that action lol.

That's a bug...she does and should mention it but you have to mod your savegame.

Interesting...so, they did recognize the possibility.  I wonder how they would explain Leliana showing up if she died?  Maybe Gaider commented on it somewhere?
