 Hi all,

I'm about 20 hours into Dragon Age 2, and am a bit confused by one aspect of the relationships.

At about the 16 hour mark I passed the first major relationship milestone with Anders in which he, ahem, stayed the night before I invited him to move in with Hawke. The dwarf (forgot his name...) who acts as your servant there mentions that it's nice having Anders around the place if you speak to him.

However, I have NEVER (apart from in the bit above) seen him in the hawke mansion, both night and day. Was all that above just part of the conversation, and the companion never 'sleeps over' or is seen there ever again?

Or have I somehow messed things up...? <_<

Just recently I gave him the Tevinter Chantry Amulet, but nothing has really changed.

Cheers for the help in advance!

I can't say what happens in the Anders romance arc, but Merrill was actually in Hawke's estate all the time at one point in my game (after having began the romance). So yes, it does happen with at least Merrill. I can't imagine she is the only one that actually moves into the estate, but what the hell do I know.

Anders will move in eventually, but I'm not sure how early he can. You'll get an option to ask him I think? I just know for sure that Merrill and Anders can move in.

You can ask Anders in the initial romance scene at Hawke's house. He doesn't actually show up until Act 3, but he'll accept if you suggest it (or he'll ask you if you don't).

Merrill's never around either. Bodahn always mentions how he's sure she's at that novel of hers. I hear she moves in for real for Act III, though. I'll bet Anders is the same.

He shows up in Act 3 and is found there instead of at his clinic from that point onward.

Thanks for the replies!

Yeah, I asked him to move in and just found it weird that while the dwarf comments that it's nice to have Anders around the house, he isn't actually there despite him agreeing to move in. I had accidentally said 1 flirt line with Aveline sometime afterwards (but rejected other advances) and was wondering if that had screwed it up or something.

I'm not up to Act 3 yet, so I'll wait to see if he appears there then.

He will hang out on the second floor, by the guard rail.

Sadly, Isabela did not move in when my Hawke was in a relationship with her. Such a dialogue never even occured.

For Merrill I got the moving in option in the third Arc, right after concluding her personal quest with the Mirror and having some smexy time. Afterwards she moved in.

When Anders move in, make sure you interact with your dog and Bodahn. Both have some interesting dialogue with or about Anders. Gamlen has something to say about it, too, if you interact with him in his house in Lowtown during Act 3.

I love Varric's and Isabella's reaction to Anders romance.
