Well, the thing is that Anders isn't his first name, either. It's a nickname (his family is from the Anderfels).

So providing you with his real name wouldn't be much help. Posted Image

He is from Anderfels? To bad he was taken away from his family as a young boy. Would love to hear him speak with our horrible german accent Posted Image

God please no

Haha.

3/4 LIs in DA2 (Anders, Isabela, Fenris) aren't using their real names. WHAT IS THIS.

But we get to hear Fenris's real name at least. Leto. Which I don't blame him for going with Fenris. Is it significant that both Fenris and Leto are real-world mythologically based? Though... Leto was female.

Maybe Anders' mother was a devout Andrastian pillow-embroidering wild dog then.

Wut?  Hell with that, the only important Leto(s) have a surname of Atreides :P

I smell a DA3 plot in the works. You go to the Anderfels and investigate Anders' true identity. Still, I wonder how he wound up in the Ferelden Circle rather than one located closer to his country. I mean, geographically speaking, the Anderfels is closer to Orlais (which has a circle) than Ferelden.

I vote for Roderic McCrazyPants the third.

You watch, David will see this and it will show up in the next DLC.

2. And I was wondering if the Devs could give us Anders' last name, or does he even remember it?

McCrazyPants.

I'm taking that to be canon. Adding it to the wiki now!

Well if he's really coming from the Andersfels and this people are modeled after the Germans, I think he either will sound like someone from Warhammer Fantasy's Imperium, which is also modeled after Germany or he has some kind of lame pun or "meaningful" name like Theodorich Rebell or Heinrich von Stand.

That or Mr. Gadien couldn't come up with a first and last name for Anders.

Something I can't understand about DAII is how the hell Anders can just waltz right into the gallows, talk to Cullen who would KNOW him from the Ferelden circle and then can just waltz right out again. Why doesn't Cullen do anything or say anything? Is it because Hawke is with him?

What happened to your sequel?

Also the Cullen couldn't tell it was Anders because Anders sounded different ;)

I always wondered this too. Then I thought that maybe the fact that Anders is also a Grey Warden allows him a bit of freedom from the templars. It's like Anders is floating a check between the Circle and the Wardens and sooner or later one of the groups is going to figure it out. Although if Hawke's sibling ends up a Warden, then they seem to consider it a trade for Anders. :wizard:

I cant explain any early encounters between anders and cullen but by act 3 Anders gets by because he an associate of the Champion of Kirkwall. In act 3 anders can confront Meridith at the end of her quest and Meridith will respond by saying that she only tolerates an apostate like Anders because he is a friend of the champion.

If that's the case, why does he have an English (read: Ferelden) accent instead of the logical German or perhaps Baltic accent one would expect from an Ander?

Because he wasn't raised in the Anderfels?? Same reason an American child who was adopted at a young age by a British family would have an English accent instead.

He was taken from his family at a very young age and brought to the Circle.

His real name is Blondie Catlover. That's why Verric calls him Blondie, and why he loves cats.
