Our boy is from Ferelden, pretty sure. And psh, you guys, just because he goes by a nickname doesn't mean he doesn't love you! 8V Give him some credit! <3

2. slaves don't have last name yeah? or they take their slaver's last name?
3. well, it can be a bit far fetched but perhaps Isabella was pregnant before, got rid of the baby since the life as a pirate it's not easy to be a mother. It was a botched abortion which made her infertile for the rest of her life, but she didn't know it was a bad procedure?
4. either way, Isabella can't have babies, I dont picture her wanting to use lots of protections since she obviously caught stuff and needed Anders to help her get rid of it.
5. God I hope she didn't pass those on to Fenris during their little fling in my not-romancing-fenris play through

It might not be his given name, but it's the one he chose, so it's his name.

1. It never occurred to me that loads of people in the game are not using their real name. Does Elves have last names? Doesn't seem like it huh? I was picturing it like Merrill of <insert name of a clan/house/something>.

Anders is a nice nickname since it means "Different" in dutch. suits him doesnt it?
Still, it kinda strange that he never mentions his real name to his closest friends and woman he loves.

But really though....
Well, the thing is that Anders isn't his first name, either. It's a nickname (his family is from the Anderfels).
So providing you with his real name wouldn't be much help.
Ffffffffuuuuuu.....
Rampant speculation engines gooooooo.
Can't speculate, too busy thinking that maybe Anders never loved us because if he did, he'd have at least told us his real name at some point.
I just went back to the little backstories they gave us around V-Day for each of the romance options, and it's clear from that that "Anders" is the name he thinks of when he thinks of himself. (And also Justice, but that's half the fun, right?!)

2. And I was wondering if the Devs could give us Anders' last name, or does he even remember it?
Not sure if anyone has addressed this yet, but the funny thing about this question is that "Anders" isn't even his real first name.

What do you mean with nordic? Anderfels is the Holy Roman Empire aka Germany. I'm german myself and don't look especially "nordic"

I have a few question for the devs.
1. Is Isabela infertile? I ask cause she's been with hundreds of people all through out her prime years and she hasn't had any kids we know of and she acts kind of funny when you give her that Rivaini fertility idol.
You ask why Izzy has no kiddies running around?

Dat answer your question?

Elves do have last names. The Dalish Warden's last name is Mahariel, which Merrill refers to quite a lot in game.
Actually, I wonder if they're multi-word first names; the Sundermount group has Hahren Paivel, which might be a first name and last, but why, then, don't the Keeper or Master Ilen have first and last names? It'd probably be sufficient to say "Merrill of the Alerion/Sabrae Clan" without any additional naming conventions.
Zev's a city elf so he doesn't count, I think.
As for Anders' real name... The short story they gave us stated that his father was happy to be rid of him after he set the barn on fire twice. I'm pretty sure whatever family name he may have had, he probably isn't too attached to it.
My grandfather's name was Carl, but his nickname was Pat ("Pitter-pat" of little feet when he was a baby) and I think people pretty much called him Pat his whole life.
Sometimes you become your nickname?

I agree with everything you've said, with one caveat- "Hahren" is a title, meaning elder.
