Hey everyone.

I finished hard the other day and now ive been trying to get somewhere on nightmare, but i just cant find a consistent Hawke build/Team. I find that when i have a respecteble offense, i have no defence, and vice verca. So what do you guys think is a good class/build for hawke on nightmare, and what companions would you use? I guess Anders is a given either way but..

Well, I'm still on my first game, but playing nightmare. I'm roughly 16 hours in Act 1 right now.

My team is:

Mage Hawke (Heal/Support)
Aveline (Tank)
Merrill (Controller/DPS)
Varric (DPS)

I didn't get to a point to pick up Force Mage yet, but I did get a mix of Spirit Healer/Creation/Arcane. I may re-spec though to switch out Arcane for Primal though. I basically built Creation to the auras and heals only. Spirit Healer, going to pick up everything. Force Mage will be for the +100 Fort buff. Arcane is mostly built for the team buff, but I'm thinking Rock Armor and some more damage dealing would be more useful.

It's been difficult at times, but I found healing myself to be a better function to free up three NPCs to just concentrate on damage. My token team has been Hawke/Aveline/Varric through the whole game so far and just switching out others for plot.

Thanks for the input, do you have any tactics for Aveline for me? Having some problems getting it right, she mostly ends up just standing there for me.
