I don't like the fact that almost every male companion you run in DAO2 is a gay. What the hell? I know Bioware wants to also appease the "sexual minority" with their game but come on, one thing is to appease and another thing is to go overboard with it. Maybe add a check box at char creation, like "This char is gay" so that we can leave it unchecked and not run into this almost everywhere in the game? I don't mind having also gay options in the game, for both males and females but I am not one and I don't like it getting shoved in my face almost everywhere.

Graphics.. Well, overall they're nice, though I don't know what suddenly happened to elves. They were elves in DAO1 and now in DAO2 they're like those natives in Avatar movie, but only very badly starved. Who came up with that idea? Elves were OK in DAO1, sure, we need more models and more variety (and not just for elves) but sheesh, come on, this is silly.

Where's the toolset?

I also do not like the thing they've done with the gear. One thing what RPG stands for to me is that I can customize everything. Now they've made so that almost all of the gear is usable only by main char! And companions are totally non-customizable. This is NOT fun. And silly at that, there are way more enemies in DAO2 in every fight then there were in DAO1 (which is OK for me) and then my companions "charge" in wearing their little jackets, dresses, corsets and what not, and guess what - that little pajama has more AC then my whole frikkin' plate armor set in total! That was totally pointless and silly change and definitely annoyed and threw me off quite a bit. Every char should be customizable in an RPG, it should be up to the player what they wear and what they use.

And still the linear game world what Bioware games have since ages past. Limited maps, no open world and so on. I hope that one day they will make a world which is like a world, like in Oblivion and so on, not these narrow maps and thin corridors. It's already too old, time to move on.

Not all is bad of course, there are also some things which I like and these make me play through this game, once for sure, maybe one or two more times in future (to try out different outcomes and also do everything what I may have missed in first playthrough). More then that? Not sure. Maybe they'll add some interesting and nice DLC's (and not just those which add an item or two into the game, I mean the kind with lots of gear, hopefully gameplay improvements - see above about gear! - new areas, new companions, what not).

Likes: Well, let's see. I actually ended up way more interested in the companions in 2 compared to Origins. I was actually surprised by that, but I seemed to connect to them more. Particular standouts for me were Aveline, Merrill, and Varric. I also liked Hawke as a character, moreso than the warden or Shepard, also a surprise. The story was good once it got going, my favorite bits revolving around the the Arishok, who was awesome, and Anders, for obvious reasons.

Things that I didn't like: The recycled environments did start to get old after a while. Also, while I liked the party members, it felt like they could use a few more conversation chances. Also, the camera on the PC was a poor replacement for the one in Origins.

Overall, I really, really liked DA2. I might even like it more than Origins. That doesn't seem to be the common sentiment around here, but there you go. It certainly has its faults, but I really enjoyed it.

I liked the general story overall.
I will just post what I disliked about it. Will be shorter.
1.Conversations and depth of interaction with your companions.
2.The new look of the elves I didn't quite like.
3.Since the majority of the story is in Kirkwall. Having your side quests and choices effect the city more. examples. wiping out a gangs or taking them over, buying or taking over businesses or effecting who leads the city a just honest man or a puppet you helped get put in charge.

In fact making your choices put you as the champion of Kirkwall or defacto ruler/despot of Kirkwall.

1 - Ugh, I know. The party banter was okay, in my opinion, but it defiantly lacked the emotional ties to characters that we had in DA:O.... well, the only emotional tie I had to my character in the game was hating their guts.... but I guess that doesn't really count ^_^

2 - I mentioned same thing in my post - they look..... well, just look too different. They looked fine as they were in DA:O. Sure, they want all of the races to look different - but not so much that they look like how they are now.

3 - Yep. I also think that they could have added more depth to the story itself - e.g. at the start when Varric is talking about your first year in Kirkwall and how the word had spread about the blight ending - why couldn't we play that through? We had an option to choose what way to get into the city - and it would have added more depth to the story imo if we could have played it through ourselve, hear the rumors of the blight ending with our own ears and so on.

I like DA II, but not as much as I love the origin. I too liked it more than I thought I would, and if anything, for £35, I am dissapointed in the game - DA:O I payed half the price, and it was 10 times better than DAII.

Ah well, hopefully if/when they make DAIII they will put in more attention to the game.

One thing is sure, i'm not going to get caught 2 times, for mass effect 3 i will wait that the game will be at 75 percent off for buying it, I suppose that is a good thing. Dragon age 2 take me less than 20 hours finish it.....for 59.99$, it's just stupid, anyway I think I'm gonna wait for old republic and it's gonna be my last game....:)
