Male Mage Hawke (Primal Lightning/Earth Stuff and Force Mage)
Fenris as a two hander tank
Merrill cause I love her, she *can* be awesome damage wise, but I find I have to control her to do it.
Varric, I like unlocking things, and he's awesome.

I ran with that until Fenris got on my nerves too much and switched him out for Aveline who I really like and will probably romance in my next pro templar hate those mages playthrough.

Other then Varric I really don't like any of the male team members, they're all really annoying.

DW rogue Hawke, Aveline, Merrill, Anders.

Aveline tanks when necessary (not often), Merrill dishes out pain, Hawke kills everybody (mages first) and Anders is usually in Vengeance but switches to heals when necessary (again, not often).

It probably isn't the best party for the average fight, but I've found that it's the best party for the hard fights, so I just stick with it all the time.

I'll occasionally switch out Fenris for Anders or Isabela just to switch things up, and will leave Aveline out of quests I think she'll disapprove of (trying for friendship).

Without Bethany insert Merril and replace Varric with Isabela

Didn't really use warriors at all for my first playthrough. Solely rogues and mages.

Rogue Hawke dw, Varric, Merrill, & Anders. Occasionally switched out Varric for Isabella, and used Bethany instead of Anders whenever possible.
