no, DA2 is a prettified beat em up. (Onimusha 2 had a companion approval system)

Basically DA2 offers you lots of choices which in almost all cases have the same outcome, which was very different in DAO. I also miss the old companion conversation system.
Basically DA2 was a good game (which took a lot of shortcuts for short development time like the companion armor for example), Dragon Age Origins however was a great game.
Don't really mind the combat system, but really miss the depth of DAO.

I however retain some feeble optimism for DA III, due to the conflict that DA II has set up. Won't be buying any DLC or expansions for DA II though

Uhmm... verging on yes but.. theres a lot of improvements to be made, the core of the mechanics are far better, implementation of said mechanics is fairly poor.
