If you ignore all the bugs in DA2, then yes, IMO DA2 is a MASSIVE improvement over the PoS that was Origins. Oh, and if you ignore the ret'cons as well. Combat in Origins you could literally sleep through even on nightmare. Point and click combat should be saved for MMOs, where it belongs.

Yes and No. (PC)

I did like the combat a lot more then in DA:O, but the area recycling was one of the worst ideas they could come up with.

Still a good game. Improves in some ways, regresses in others. Overall though not as good.

In general, story is on par and combat is worse.  It's the not the speed of the combat that's the problem so much as it's the repetition.

In some ways yes.

The spell animations and talent trees.

In most ways NO!!!!

Broken immersion.
Reused assets
Plot holes
Uneven story
Boring and static city
Hawke and many others not fleshed out as characters
Story has no beginning
Story has no ending
Uneven combat
Nonsensical waves of enemies without purpose or reason
Story inconsistencies
Hawke has no real affect on the world
Didn't feel as accomplished as the warden
No attention to detail
Lack of customization
Missed opportunites

I didn't hate it....thanks to mods.   All the missed opportunites and sloppiness really bothered me though.  Since this is a yes or no, I'd have to say.....

ABSOLUTELY  NOT!!!!!!

I game on PC

PS.

A word of advice to Bioware......

NEVER again use the word "AWESOME!"  NEVER!!!

You must be 10 years old and have never heard of a little series called Baldur's Gate.

RPG's ARE "point and click" affairs. That's their heart and soul. Not "Hurrrr push a button something awesome happens!"

You obviously aren't an RPG fan, just a Call of Duty fan that got swept up in the hype over the original.

1.) Hate Call of Duty.  Hate Halo even more.
2.) Ive been playing RPGs before you were even a stain in your mother's under pants.  So yes, Ive played BG and wasnt impressed.
3.) Rpgs ARE point and click affairs?  Yea, that is definately an opinion.  Dont try and pass that bs off as fact lol.  Of course, that's the kind of rhetoric Id expect from a PC elitist.  Let me guess, you dont think JRPGs are rpgs either right?

No, the game actually went backwards. Orgins would of been considered an improvement over DA:II.

I was so bored with the repetitive combat towards the end I typed 'runscript killallhostiles' just to skip it. This game is even worst than Awakenings, I think Bioware has finally lost it's magic.
