my thoughts exactly. (also on PC)

if the side quests where a random stranger gives you money were initiated in a different way, such as by dialogue with the quest giver or perhaps on some sort of Chanter's Board or Mage's Board, then my answer would be a wholehearted YES.

that was my only real gripe, other than that I very much enjoyed DA2.

I liked the new faster combat (though disliked the exploding enemies.. felt that it was a bit too over the top. I liked the new unique companion armour sets that made them stand out, unlike Origins where everyone wore generic sets that made them look like everyone else.

But..

1) Kirkwall, as a city, felt a bit dead. There was a distinct lack of NPCs to talk to, random NPCs going about their daily lives etc.
2) Bugs, bugs, bugs.
3) Recycled areas was my main gripe.

Basically it had lots of promise, but it was rushed. So I'm going to go with: In a few ways it was better than Origins, and in others it was worse.

So:

It's worth noting the way the question is worded. Some people may interpret no to mean it is an inferior product when it could mean it is on par with the first installment and does not improve upon anything. Some of those who answered may have further explained their reasoning, but I think your results may still be a bit skewed to cast a negative light on the game. I point this out while I still refrain from purchasing the game because of issues reviewers have brought up.
