Bioware simply did the same thing to Dragon Age II as they did to Mass Effect 2, stripped and simplified. But then again, that won't stop me from buying ME3 or DA3.
Almost, for at least with ME 2 the stripping was compensated with improved shooter gameplay, greater differentiation between classes, and higher overall production values including not having the same maps over and over and over. Also one could argue that the streamlining of ME 2 wasn't necessarily a bad thing as it has always been a 3rd person shooter / rpg hybrid. Also, ME 2, IIRC also included persuation-like dialogue options which allowed you to navigate out of a fight, which was nice, I don't remember ever being able to do that in DA 2.
