It's clear by now that most problems with the Very High graphics settings is caused by tesselation. I would love to be able to use the improved lightning and shadows, but the use of tesselation makes things really hard. Is there a way to include this option in the game?
Please Make a option to disable Tesselation

I think it's an option in the dragonage.ini file. Not 100% sure though.

There are programs for your graphics card that you can usually control the tesselation with if you uncheck "let application control settings"

Tesselation is disabled by unticking the amd optimised and let application boxes then moving the slider all the way to the left.

It is not in the dragon age ini file.
But you can sort of do it.
Just change your graphic setting to High, Quit the game, then go into the DragonAge.ini file in
Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\Settings
and make sure these settings are set to 1
EnableSSAO=1
EnableHighQualityBlur=1
EnableDiffusionDOF=1
This means you are effectively running directx 11 without Tesselation.
But you can sort of do it.
